Had a vicious storm yesterday. My wife was in the back seat with the kids and water started dripping on her. It was coming in at a good clip. She rolled a towel up and put it on top of the back seat(by the head rest) on the drivers side. By time i got home the towel was soaked. I checked the outside seal around the window and that looked good. Any suggestions?

Same week the I bought my truck, I was washing it, and the whole back seat got wet.
Took it to dealer Hayward, CA toyota dealer twice, they said is normal, and there is nothing to do in the case. I even showed them a video of the problem.
They couldn't help me. So I guess I'm going to buy me one of those big tubes of silicone, red color and seal the whole sliding window on my 2012 tacoma. Hahahahahahahahah

No it is not normal to get water into the people tank in any car or truck. Do not let them blow you off. Make them fix it.

And please do not use a tube of caulk on it.

I had a pretty bad leak like that too, turned out to be the 3rd brake light. Thankfully I could not find any rust caused by the leak.

there is a rubber trim piece going down the roof(outside). that piece goes behind the rear window seal. That intersection is where the water is getting in. Two small gaps on each side of the roof trim when it goes behind the window seal. I put two dabs of clear silicon problem solved.:D

F¥cking dealerships! That's like going to a Dr and telling him you have a second asshole growing on your forehead and he tells you that it's normal.

good to hear you found your problem. I always looked at those rubber seals on the roof and wondered how waterproof they really are. Too much cost cutting and using cheap materials on Toyota's part.
