I don’t think so. I use a Fumoto on my truck and I don’t see how it saves money. In fact, it cost me $25.

Also it takes a little longer for the oil to drain. But it’s pretty darn convenient to be able to drain oil with flip of a switch!.

I do but it's small. Won't be able to get the drain plug all the way out without making a mess. With the Fumoto valve I can stick my finger up there and turn the valve open with no mess.

I'm not dogging you, but how so? Just keep the drain in a safe place and that's it.

It's like having a key to wheel locks. Keep the key in a safe place and you're out nothing.

    Workin' on it....
Looks decently large in size which would be great for quick drains but I don't know how big the access holes are in everyone elses skid plates but the hole in my BAMF plate I can barely get two fingers into and I have small hands. No way I could screw the cap on the Valvomax without dropping the skid. I'll be sticking with my Fumoto.

All you have too do with skid plates is open up the drain holes slightly, problem solved.

Sounds like you didn’t properly torque it (tightened it down as far as i could w/out breaking it) by doing that, you probably cracked/damaged the gasket. That’s why it was leaking.

All my vehicles have a fumoto vale: not one of them has leaked

That's crazy. 80 friggen pounds!? I'm stock so i don't know what a skid plate weighs or any other armor. But damn, but I'd be making that hole bigger to work with.

    On a side note:
Someone mentioned, why aren't they one piece? My guess is a toss up between ease of manufacturing or for serviceability.

1/4” steel gusseted skid plate.....it’s a bitch but I’m quite confident nothing is going to bend it.......

Driving a forklift over it (photo courtesy of BAMF) doesn’t even bend it

Why isn't what one piece? The ValvoMax valve?

I ordered one because I'm intrigued by the design, but it hasn't arrived yet. Until it does, my guess is that the ValvoMax a sort of bayonet fitting. As the coupler with the drain hose is screwed onto the fitting, there probably is a spring-loaded poppet valve that is depressed, allowing for the oil to flow, and where is there is no valve handle.
