For sure! I was just checking out Jawbone Canyon and surrounding trails. It would be cool to jam around there for a day and camp and then head to Rainbow Basin and others the next day.

For those going tomorrow - make sure you bring lunch and snacks and whatnot. That Sunshine Summit Market 5 miles south of the meeting point is a mini grocery store and they have a deli attached as well. I figure we can break for lunch in Borrego Springs before heading to the washes and Ocotillo?

There's a chance I might be out for tomorrow's run due to work issues that might be forcing me to work the weekend. We'll see if the contractors can get their websites up and running so that we can do the work they are requiring us to do on their short deadline. :annoyed::frusty:

I'm still in. I may only do the first leg of the trail and head home after Borrego Springs but we'll just see how it goes with timing and how far out we are. My cousin, who's tagging along with me, needs to be back in Temecula Saturday evening at a decent hour so not sure we can make it all the way out to Ocotillo.

Since gas was mentioned... sounds like we'll be fine if we fill up in Temecula? I have a 5gal gas jug I can bring but also don't want to haul around gas all day if we don't need it. Also just picked up a Viair compressor on Wed so looking forward to being able to air down/up now :)

Sweet! Yeah, Temecula is probably the best bet for gas at the beginning. That Sunshine Summit place has one pump and I'm sure it's .50 more there for gas bc it's in the middle of nowhere. I'll have a jerry can of gas with me as well just in case.

If you're only doing the first half you might not even have to air down. I don't usually unless I'm in sand, so I'll probably do it before Ocotillo

I've done Fish creek wash without airing down if that serves as a good comparison and/or I just got lucky and didn't puncture a tire, THAT'S my main concern.

I don't think I would be overly concerned with that on this trip, BUT if it makes anyone feel better I have a tire plug kit. I also have traction boards, a shovel, a couple of D-rings, recovery strap, recovery hitch, and spare gas.
