Taking the San Diego law of averages into consideration that means 10 will show up. Either way, both of those numbers look good! :D:cool:

There were about 5 tentative people on that list I think...and it's still a month away. I'm sure it won't end up being 20 strong. If it is I'll be impressed!!

Yeah, when we get about a week out I'll grab a more definitive head count and see where we stand

Premium version the first time around. When it comes time to renew, depending on if I feel it's worth it or not, I might downgrade

Looks like it matches yours, or at least all the important information is there. If you click "drive to" it should take you to the trailhead coordinates. Those map layers are the ones I used when planning the route, set at various transparencies. You should be able to have multiple layers turned on, if not that might be a membership thing. There's also a place for comments on the route page as well

Might be in for this. Any idea how long we expect the trek to take? Might be too long for a day trip for me but I might be able to coordinate a place to crash in Temecula.

Each section of the trail takes about 1 hour - Highpoint, Palomar Divide, Indian Flats. Grapevine will take the longest at about 1.5 hours. I figure it shouldn't take more than an hour to cruise by all the metal sculptures in Borrego Springs, they're not that far apart. So I would guess total trip time to be around 5.5 - 6 hours? And that's not including the drive there and back, that's just trails only. I'd like to get an early start to try to cover as much ground as possible, but anyone who wants to dip out early is welcome to. A shorter day would be Highpoint, Palomar Divide, and Indian Flats - skipping the Grapevine/Borrego Springs part. Hell, depending on how the day goes and how long it actually takes I might just do that myself and save Grapevine & Borrego Springs for a different trip. That would allow for longer time to play on the other trails in Borrego, like Jasper and Old Culp

Also, weather wise it looks like we might luck out. After tomorrow there's no more rain forecasted for the rest of the month, and the 29th is looking to be overcast. I'm looking specifically at Palomar Mtn's weather to try to be as accurate as possible. Fingers crossed we don't get rained out!

A few of us are 2wd, but mainly because they have the tendency to close Palomar Divide at the slightest hint of rain :(

quote this post and I will start a conversation with those interested.
Any advice on where to camp near the end of this run...then wake up and do the run backwards to go home?
