Grammar begins with the basics of word formation, and the combination of letters in the alphabet. Punctuation is a separate part and requires a more in-depth study of the English language. (First Grade versus third) I do apologize for my punctuation, and I will rectify the situation as soon as I can turn on my computer. We can continue to read garbage, but reading words with improper spelling only lowers our literacy and ability to speak and pronounce words correctly. We all know the internet is the future, so why not treat it like you would an old dictionary. I am not seeking a revolution, just a greater awareness on the words we type, and that is all.

Very common words, often misspelled to the point where it can mean something else. Please post any words you notice are commonly misspelled.

Misspellings lower your literacy?? I'm pretty sure you don't lose the ability to read well because you read someone else's poor writing. And again-It's no reflection on you if someone else wants to make them selves look like an idiot on the internet.
I agree with you- People should probably use proper grammar and avoid swearing or arguing in serious conversations-but is this thread going to make that happen...Nope

    Spelling? What's that?

That stuff doesn't bother me at all. In most cases, you know exactly what they're saying anyway.

Besides, I'd rather see people utilize the Search button instead!

I agree! I think some of these young kids are so used to sending text messages that it's become normal communication for them...is typing one or two additional letters to complete a word that physically demanding?

Brune, I do not want to argue. I just would like to make suggestions for several commonly misspelled words, nothing more.:)

Its not so much the spelling, as the laziness in going back and re-reading your own posts. I am guilty as charged.....It only takes 2 seconds to re-read your own posts and make corrections, but I fail. When I am posting from my phone, its epic fail.
