I’d most likely keep it if not sell it since most trucks now are worth more than what the residual value on this one is

 

I think you could do better.
At 394/month for 36 you’re paying 14k for a truck you don’t own plus the residual is 43,000 for a 35,000 listed vehicle. I got my 19 with 3,000 Miles for just oVer 31,000 out the door.

 

Also what model is that for?

 

You finance yours? I think I’d be able to bring it down more I tried other dealers nobody is willing to match

It is a terrible time to try to get into a new Toyota, lease or buy, because the demand is so great. If you can, check out the thread "What are you paying for your 2020 Tacomas and look for posts by @TacoBuffet He is a genius and has bought like 12 Tacomas and if you can, wait!.

Yes I am financing mine, did one lease, will never go back. I know some love it but for me we got racked by damages and repairs on a vehicle we would have given back. Traded it in on a killer deal on a 4x2 tacoma, lost a lot of money on the lease (Wife's rogue) Took the financed 4x2 at the start of Covid and traded it in for more than we owed and talked the dealer down on the 19. Would I have preferred an offroad? Of course, but I love the tacoma period and will use the money we saved (And recouped from the lease) If you are willing to wait for the right deal, and right incentives ( I bargained for a 2.75% interest rate for 60 months without money down and my payment is just 100 more/ month and my interest is hardly anything.

 

Do the math on the numbers they gave you. Spread that over 36 months and you end up with $175 a month (approx). That means the difference between $394 and $175 is what they are charging/making in interest. That's a terrible deal.

 

Leases are terrible financial deals, most of your payment goes towards "rental fees, cost recovery, interest on depreciation" You're better off financing it if you can put a nice downpayment. Otherwise, check out a nicely built 2nd gen too! Trust me, I'm an accountant!
