If you can finance it at just under 35k, I would. Rates are low, prices are up, but that doesn’t seem bad.

Or honestly wait till there is less demand. It’s hard enough to get one right now and prices show

context is everything. For a Tacoma that holds is value really well and seemingly lasts longer than any other vehicle on the road? Yes, it’s an unwise financial move to lease then - especially now when demand is so high and supply incredibly low. Simple economics at play.

For a POS German sports car that loses half its value seconds after driving off the lot, barely makes it to 100k without issues, and doesn’t have shit for market value by that point - a lease is a smarter move no doubt for numerous reasons.

    Purchased my Tacoma.

Leased my (Old) BMW - would NEVER liquify that much of my cash on a vehicle that has such shitty reliability, resale, and depreciation over its lifespan. Nope.

Wait it out. Take it from someone who was an assistant sales manager for a stealership (me) - we made money off impulsive people/decisions.

what is the advantage of leasing over owning.........same period o time

iv been advised there is NO tax advantage

true one can walk away at the end o lease

yet trade ins are worth more after 3-4 years.............. at least they are to date

so whats the advantage when a lease has soooooo many ' gotcha ' clauses

refer to my post above (#25). Per Tacoma’s - there is no advantage. “Gotcha” clauses = you didn’t pay attention to the fine print or have zero clue when navigating lease deals.

Also, please everybody keep in mind - IF you do lease, you don’t have to turn it back into the original dealer. You can have it paid off as part of the trade deal if you go to a different dealer.. doesn’t even have to be the same brand. So if you’re dumb enough to get nailed by mileage overages, dings, scratches, etc that’s on you. NEVER take it back to the dealer IMO and turn it in.

    iv looked twice

dont see ' fine print '...... true i know not leasing !!!

more the reason i asked ...................

im aware that early turn in......excess miles most would consider negatives

while they are mentioned & may be in ' fine print 'known to all at square one

$$$$$ wise or otherwise if NO Advntages why deal with the negatives

your posts are painful to read and clearly you didn’t read it or you wouldn’t be asking the same question yet again when I answered it....

CONTEXT. For a Tacoma - no benefit. Luxury cars that depreciate quickly and hold little resale - smart to lease.

    i read the entire thread

i didnt ask for the 1st person singular incident when im sure toyota & other dealers

    write leases everyday

lookin at the cost in and out asking about the ' advantage ' is valid

looking at Total cost the lease covers the depreciation

Guys Longo Toyota is THE biggest dealer in CA. They usually have volume pricing and are able to give decent (not great, but decent) deals due to their size. They were one of the few dealers to sell Pros at MSRP when the others were racking up $10k ADP.

OP you didn't say if this is 2wd or 4wd? If 4wd I'd bite, I doubt you could do better in this market right now. Ignore the dudes that say "Back in 2019, I got a Pro plus wheels and a lifetime warranty for $25k!" They never have proof.

Also ignore the guys that say "Buy used! A (rust bucket old tech) second gen will work until the prices go down!" That clapped out 2nd gen will cost stupid money and you'll spend $$ fixing the problems the previous owner bailed out on by trading. Also, prices won't go down. At least not enough to justify wasting a year or more of your life scraping rust off an old beater you shouldn't have bought in the first place.

    What say you OP? @Fernando95diaz

You are right about Longo, but Tustin Toyota can beat that deal by $30 a month, assuming it’s 4x4, if it’s 2wd they will beat it by more than that.

@Fernando95diaz PM me if you want to see the numbers at Tustin Toyota, I’ll give you the contact info for one of internet sales managers.
