I just leased mine, cheapest dealership I could find on the east coast.

TRD Off-Road, 4x4, $38.6k MSRP, $340 month. 2/24 lease. Nothing down, just first months payment sign and drive.

You can do MSDs on some Tacoma leases to make them REALLY cheap, for example if I put $2700 down in MSD's (you get MSDs back at the end of the lease - they are different than a down payment), I would have saved $50/month.

The same dealership had some MT versions that saved another $50/month or so.

TRD Sports even cheaper than the TRD Off-Roads. I'm guessing it's possible to be close to $200/month for a MT Sport. Helluva deal.

No payment is "mostly interest". The exception is of course a home mortgage or a pawn shop loan ;-)

For example: A $35,000 loan on a Chevy at 4% interest and a 66 month term would result in a payment of $592.
After only 18 payments the loan balance would be reduced by $8,800 leaving a balance of $26,200.
Averaged over those 18 months, the $592 payment includes only about $103 interest. The other $489 goes directly to the principle.

I understand what you mean, but it really only applies to long term loans or loans with crazy high interest.

The key is also guessing correctly what the future value of the Chevy would be at the end of those 18 months. My WAG is that the value of the truck and principle due on the loan would be at least equal and therefore no negative equity.

Yeah, I bet I bought from the same (well, I used a broker who uses that dealer)

Same monthly with nothing DAS/no MSDS for my DCSB 4x4 Sport, which includes $5,000 of "wear & tear" coverage added because of my teenager "borrowing" it as much as they can get away with...

Some of those manual TRD Off-Road Tacomas were really cheap with MSDs:

Yup, we used the same people :)

I'm in Charlotte btw. I still need to fly up there to pick up the truck, probably do that in another week and a half.

For me, I had no plans to get a Tacoma let alone lease one. The deals were too good to pass up. This allows me to sell my 2013 Acura TL (which is paid off) to free up some cash to pay off some debt. Plus my Acura is getting up there in miles and will need a bit of work over the next two years... I'd rather dump it now while it's still nice, and get something I won't worry about for two years.

I leased a 19 MT OR DCSB for 240/mo 12k miles 2 years. I signed my deal 2 months ago. The MSRP of my truck was over 40k (prem&tech). I gave Toyota max msd’s (refundable security deposit which lowered your interest rate). I gave the dealer a check for $240 which was my first months payment and I drove away. The truck has all included maintenance covered for the lease. I will not pay for any wear items as they won’t fail in that mile range (i.e. tires, brakes, etc). I think deals like above are easily financially defendable Especially given it’s a depreciating asset but everyone’s motivation is different. Enjoy your truck!

I leased mine. $0 down, 36 month lease at $375.75 a month for a 2019 SR 4X4. First time buying/leasing a car and did so with no cosigner. They gave me the best deal for my credit, which at the time was 650

That's a lot of mods for a truck that doesn't belong to you, are you already planning on purchasing at end of lease?

I'm on my second Tacoma Lease. My first was a 17 Sport the Sticker was around $36K. I put $3000 down and my payment was $290 a month. I TRADED it in with about 7 months to go on the lease for a 19 Sport that the Sticker was around $44K (I got the Sport Premium Package cuz i wanted Leather and the Calvary Blue Exterior Color). I was right around the mileage that would have been allowed for the months i had the lease but they still gave me $2000 more then my payoff. I put an additional $1000 down and my payment now on a 2 year lease is $351. I like leasing as I don't generally put more then 12K a year on a vehicle. Ill say this you are better off walking into a dealer at the end of the third week in a month. I walked in at the end of the second week and the price was at over $500 a month for the same truck. At the end of the 3rd week (after i walked out) they were calling me to get the sale in by the en of the month. I stuck to my guns on the $350 a month price and they came to me with $350 plus tax and i told them no. I got a call back 15 minutes later for $351 including tax. I signed the papers that day. Start the negotiating process before the end of your lease, that way u aren't turning in a lease u are trading in a truck.
