what is the factory torque spec for the front bucket driver seat, mine is becoming a loosey goosey again (after maybe 4 or 5 months) and needs a bit of proper tightening
    thanks,j

In addition to just torquing to specs, if you're seats keep coming loose I would add some thread lock when snugging them down as well.

After markets you need to buy the tracks separately and can get pricey, but very comfy too.

I have these quite nice 02 4Runner sport seats already modified for the Tacoma for $300 for the pair if you're interested:20200120_015219.jpg
    20200120_015313.jpg

Super comfy and in great shape, and everything works on these beauties including height adjustment and lumbar for the driver seat!

Driver seat in my regular cab, I ended up finding actual Tacoma Sport buckets in matching gray so I have these left over and selling for what I paid for them.

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
Do these 4runner seats fold forward at all for access to the area behind the front seats?

4Runner seats fold and slide forward manually and separately, but they do not have the quick fold and slide in one mechanism on the passenger seat as the extra cabs do.

The 4runner seats in the pics have already made their way to a new home, and they did end up in an extra cab.

These seats are getting harder to find as time passes, especially examples in nice condition..

They do pop up here and there still but you gotta hunt diligently and act fast when you see them.

    GL on your search!

This is a new question, but it'll fit in this thread...I went to my local Pick a Part in Knoxville looking for replacement seats..I took my list from some suggested vehicles and walked the entire lot just scoping for a pair of buckets, preferably in black..I found a few sets I'd consider, but I a came out with a few more questions before I spend 40+ bucks per seat, and they won't fit for some reason..
I found some nice black leather ,but not specifically from the vehicles I've seen listed on these threads..Most of the really nice seats were tan or lighter..And I don't think dying a much nicer bucket is gonna be the answer..
So, first, can you basically fit ANY type of bucket in a Tacoma ? Or do I actually have to stick to Scion, ( listed seats ? ) I found some from an Audi A4, several mini vans even...A few Nissan models , even a couple VW sedans had some nice seats...I was really hoping to find some 4runners ( a particular gen I need to look for though ? ) .....Will dying a tan to black actually work ? I don't have to have heated or airbags ( I don't think ) ..I don't think anything I can look for will just fit like my Tacoma as far as the seat frame goes..Lastly, the seat frame itself...My partner is the best welder of us but badly injured...Can't I just yank off the existing frame and rails and fit them to what I buy ? I'm sure thats where the welding comes in but not sure...So I have more questions than I went into the junkyard with..I'd appreciate all the answers I can get..My interior is gray, but thats no biggie as long as I'm not in pain anymore..Hell, I am thinking that anything will fit, including domestic seats, as long as the dimensions are close..And I am thinking thats the basis of the list of stuff I got here anyway...Thanks to all in advance..This is one great site of knowledge to bounce my thoughts off of...

Firstly this thread is for 1st gen's, so this does not apply to your 07 and maybe why there is not much response here.

When you are getting into other oem seats in your truck, they obviously must be sized right and it is up to you to fabricate mounts to mount them securely in the right position.

There are companies that will cover your stock seats with new juicy black leather, or you can get into aftermarket seats that will sell you mounting brackets for your truck to bolt seats in as other options to look into.

Good luck on your quest for ergonomic improvements!

They are not, however, I think they could work. Don't quote me on that though. My cousin has a 99 T4R with cloth and they seem the same to me. Sans electric control. Maybe give Katzkins a call and talk to them? They're very knowledgable and can probably clarify.

I might have misunderstood. These are DIY install upholstery replacements. Not covers. Brand new foam on this seat and installed just like factory. Takes some work but it's worth it. https://katzkin.com/
