Ah that would make sense. I clean mine with a leather cleaner and conditioner every 3 mos. I use a leather quick detailer every couple of weeks.
My dog rides in the back seats often, and I am a bit OCD on the interior of the truck. I don't like the drool, slobber, and boogers he leaves as gifts.

I clean mine with Mothers VLR or 303 Leather 3 in 1 regularly and they look almost new, but I only have 18k miles on my '18.

I also don't slide in or out of the seat.

I hate when passengers slide their asses out of the truck....

I work for a professional cleaning/restoration company so I know all those things:)

The cloth interior in my 2007 ranger looked brand new when I sold her at 165k miles. Hot water extraction and scotch guard every 3-4 months.

Haha! I thought I was the only one that hates it. My wife is allowed but nobody else, ha!

When I get out of my truck, I put my hand on the door sill, that way I don’t slide my ass on the seat/bolster at all.

I do every other week. Its been raining all day so its probably the lighting with the flash. Once again, this thing is barely 2 months old. .

    What?

I was trying to help, but whatever.

It just does not look like you clean every other week, or ever. If you use a proper cleaner and apply conditioner then protector you won’t have these issues.

Sorry man, shouldn't have bitten back. I took that as "you look like you are mistreating it". Ill change the last post. I baby this truck since it is the first new car I ever have had. (my only other car was the ford exploder that I have had since I was in high school) Me and my girl clean it every other weekend. Using the conditioner her parents use for their Mercedes black interior. Annoyed that I have had the same black fake leather chair for 8 years with no signs of wear and I have a taco for two months and it is already showing signs of significat wear on the seats. For reference, I work in an office and literally have only used the truck as a commuter thus far since covid and the weather mean I havent been able to do much else with it since I got it.

    No worries man.

Which cleaner are you using to clean? It definitely should not look like that after 2 months, something is wrong here. The leather in the taco is very forgiving, it’s stained and sealed leather.

Ill have to look at it when I am back home. I use a cleaner then a conditioner. The conditioner is called gold class I think. It comes in a black spray bottle. To clean any dirt off I use an Armor All leather cleaner first then the conditioner.

I will never understand why leather is considered a premium seating surface other than price.

Easier to clean im guessing? The cloth is more comfortable though IMO. I had no choice because I wanted manual and DCSB.

I try to take care of my stuff too and my last truck (2014 GMC Sierra) had leather and at 50K miles the drivers side bolster had a 1.5 inch hole . I loved the leather but that pissed me off so I wanted cloth this time and that's what I got .

You're not alone on this. My 2020 Sport has 6500 miles on her and those little squares are all but gone. I use mothers leather cleaner and conditioner once a month.

Those that said theirs is like new are neither lying or don't have leather.

Yeah... if I had a choice, I would’ve went with cloth. I still like my leather interior though, looks awesome still and I don’t have to wet clean my seats.

I haven't noticed any wear on mine but I switch cars often and often clean the interiors every other weekend. Like what others stated; I'd use leather cleaner and conditioner (after drying off the cleaner with a clean microfiber towel of course) to keep it soft and plush.

Great question. I’m not sure man. I do use commercial cleaners on it, maybe that’s why? Cleaning the right way is extremely important, gotta get all that soil off before conditioning/protecting.

Try your cleaner and a white rag, does your rag stay white or is it dark gray? If it’s dark gray still, need to keep cleaning.
