My dealer is trying to charge me 1,800 for Katzkin on my 2017 Tacoma. Is that over priced?

Way overpriced. Check prices for item on ebay. google Katzkin installers, enter zip code and find nearby installers. Contact them for price. Dealer is way out of line.

I really want black leather with red stitching. I don't know how else to go about getting that. I currently have my old truck, and it would be easier but, I agree that is overpriced. I'm not too happy with the dealer @ this point but, I love the truck. I haven't signed yet so it's not completely mine @ the moment. I've seen the Katzkin on a Tundra and it looks good.IMG_2780.jpgIMG_2781.jpg

Did you put the Clazzio on yourself? That does look clean. Where do I get it?

20171118_141459.jpg I just bought a 2017 Tacoma trd sport 4x4 and immediately knew the 70's 'Tron Cloth'" fabric seats had to go. Really toyota?,they could only look more dated if you turned 'em yellow. Hahaha. Anyway, just my opinion. So after reading through this thread a bit I decided on the "Clazzio" perforated leather seat covers. Again ,my opinion, they look like factory-installed leather seats. (Update:eek:nly the perforated leather portion is "leather",The trims and headrest are Vinyl-that must be in fine print somewhere.I'm ok with that. Not sure of the pros and cons of the 2 different materials.) There are a few wrinkles from them having been packaged in the box but I plan on getting some meguiars gold leather stuff( I've used it before on other leather seats and it smells great) and giving them a good once over and we'll see what they do with little bit of time in the Sun and settling in. Either way these are totally acceptable. I'm posting some pics even though I've seen plenty of them on here because I kind of showed some side-by-side comparisons I haven't seen. Of course I haven't 20171118_162228.jpg 20171118_174200.jpg 20171118_150754.jpg 20171118_134922.jpg 20171118_145624.jpg 20171118_145332.jpg 20171118_141459.jpg 20171118_174336.jpg read every thread but I don't have that kind of time so here you go.20171118_162228.jpg 20171118_174200.jpg 20171118_150754.jpg 20171118_134922.jpg

Curious how the seat covers "play" with the airbags in the seats.... anyone know if they mess them up?

Rtzx9r, I believe i read either at the clazzio site or real trucks.com that the seats were tested and that the strength of the seam at airbag deployment points will not stop the air bag deployment. Being around and driving before the time of airbags it wasn't a big concern of mine but good to know.

Update to the clazzio seat cover install. After going over them with the meguiars gold leather conditioner And letting them sit a few days .Then, going over them again with meguiars gold leather cleaner protector (I think that one smells better) the few wrinkles from the box packaging have disappeared nicely. And the seats have a nice deeper black tone then before.

Wit Katzkin you can also add seat heaters at time of install. Glad I opted for the heaters.

Melikemybeer, I thought about that too. But, a bit late. I see one can order some aftermarket seat heaters with different types of switches (square ,round, low power/high power, or total heat power control). I just didnt think of it before i installed my clazzio covers because I don't need em much in Florida. But, there have been occasions where my back was sore and the heat felt good and also,I thought, it would help resale value (if ever I thought to sell it down the line-pardon the balsphemy). Not now, but I might end up taking it all apart to add some later. But,kinda bumped that low on the to do list now.

Here is a pic of my Tundra with Clazzios with red stitching and custom embroidery. Pic is right after install. Wrinkles disappeared in a couple of days.WP_20170827_18_35_13_Pro.jpg

I had katskin installed the day after I picked my truck up from the dealership - my choice was going to be full leather, but I wanted to change it up a bit from what I had been seeing. Ended up going with leather and added perforated alcantara inserts, white stitching, and the logo on the front headrests. I think it turned out well! super easy to clean! Hope this helps!

Has anyone tried to put the Gen 3 seats, in a Gen 2? will they bolt right in or is it a no go. They are much more comfortable to me.

I have not seen it done, but I believe the Cab is the same so I would think they would bolt right up.
