    Hi guys
My Tacoma 2018 is suppose to be at my Dealer on April 21.
It is a TRD Sport,4 doors, automatic, and vharcoal metalic as for the colour.
At my dealer right now they do have one with same colour, but with sunroof ( which i don t care) amd with leather seats.
So for let s say a pretty good difference in price of course i could get that one.
The only thing that i really would like are leather seats,,,( not my wife lol)
My question would be ,are those material seats durable, like the old light grey ones we used to have in most 2 nd generation Tacomas ?
Now it is those sort of black material..
    Thanks for your opinions.
    Regards
    Charly

I've had my truck for about a year and a half and 16K miles and the seats look great still. With leather and minis sunroof is the perfect combo imo.

I’d like both the sunroof and leather! But like you said you don’t care either way for the sunroof. Wait for your truck to come in. You will be happier in the long run.

Actually,my intention is to buy two good seat covers to protech my two front seats mostly.
I work in a antique restauration place,so lots of wood dust from sanding wood...
I even had some in my late 2007 one for the week days..

In your situation I would go leather so the dusty seats could be wiped off, I was in a similar (work in a body shop) have the carhartt seat covers now which are awesome but new truck has leather so I will be getting rid of them, also have two kids under 3 that spill shit all over the place, leather will be great.

    Hi Wallyt
    You have a good point.
    Man,it s also a lot more $$$ though,,lo
At first i wanted to buy a used 2015 to replace my 2007,then was looking for a 2016, then decided to go for a new cause the prices of used are so close to a new in my area anyways...
So getting leather and sunroof would be just luxury,,i think..lol
Anyone knows if at least the material are still great in new models?
    Thanks

Get the none leather, then put Clazzio seat covers on it. Looks and feels 100% factory. Highly recommend.

Cost ~$500 for front and back seats.

It doesn't take long for the factory cloth to start looking a little ragged also. My driver's side seat was looking a little more worn after only 5k miles when I decided to change to leather.

Recommend if price is a determining factor go with Clazzio seat covers instead of factory or katskin.

I had factory cloth seats in my 2010 Sport and my 2014 Off Road has cloth too. I find that the cloth wears very well over the years. They have never ripped or unthreaded. About once a year I shampoo the seats and they always come out looking like new.

My partner's car has leather, but they are hot in the summer and cold in the winter (until the seat warmers kick in).

I always go with leather in my trucks. Eventually, something will bleed on the seats and blood cleans off of leather better than cloth. Usually, its me doing the bleeding because I did something stupid.

Like others have mentioned, if you want leather i'd get the clazzios. That way down the road once your seats see some wear and tear, you can simply just replace them or go back to factory cloth seats.

With my previous cars i used to have to get leather in order to get heated seats but that was not the case here. I'm content with my cloth seats, they don't get too hot in the summer or too cold in winters. If they end up getting abused or dirty I may get clazzios in the future.

Get what you want of course. You’ll be happier in the long run. But, make sure you fit in a Tacoma with a sunroof. My head hits the roof so I had to get one without the sun roof.

That's what has me holding off on leather covers. They are just covers without heaters installed. I have considered Wet Okole. Not really sure.

My biggest concern with the fabric material is that the bolsters wear out so quickly, leaving you with the infamous crunch. I'm not so sure leather covers could address that issue.

Although on the positive side of things, I've yet to stain the fabric. The worst I've had to clean up was some random sludge spots from work. Took a Gojo wipe to it, a few swipes, and clean again.

I am looking forward to the days of crushed M&M's, fries, and juice box horrors. Still have a good ways to go at only four months old.

If it's a weekday ordeal, I would just place industrial trash bags over leather seats. But overall, you couldn't go wrong with any option.

I'll second that. The rav4 with sunroof has like 8 inches to spare for me, the Tacoma had my head resting on the headliner. Toyota built the sunroof trucks for shorter people.
