Leather trim interior

Recently ordered a 2018 with black leather interior for a limited 4x4 (DCSB). The specs say leather "trim" seats. Because the black is new this year I have not seen the interior in person. Are the seats completely leather? Has anyone seen the Black leather? .... Just want to make sure the seating surface is real leather and it looks good.

Also what brand of tonneau covers do you all recommend

 

I'd highly doubt the seats are leather. At best, the face of the seat will be leather, but the sides and back will most definitely be vinyl. This is for better longevity. Even aftermarket Katzkins are this way. You can order ALL leather, but it better be a garage queen, or the UV will cause it to split.

Leather Interior

Few things say luxury, class and affluence like leather interior in a refined and modern interior. Some of the cons to having leather seats include a higher cost, the sting of hot leather in the sun and a tendency to conform and wear more severely over time.

 

Few things say more Toyota quality than your everyday plush machine stitched polycotton twill fabric with that spill proof chemical coating.... just kidding....

They did add a leather option for the sport and Off Road for 18, also think they added a black interior option for the Limited instead of that hideous diarrhea brown color.

 

Yeah that brown... I guess they "thought" brown looks good with everything.

In Canada they're the same seats as the Limited but in black. An example here:

I don't know if it's real or not but I don't think it looks cheap. I test drove a Mazda 3 with leather interior and THAT looked cheap.

I like it tbh. I'd be lying if I said it didn't sway me towards a 2018 over a 2017.

The Off-Road still comes with the same cloth seats up here. Model options in Canada are weird...

 

I have it on my 2018 DCLB Sport. It's not real leather....it's "pleather" (ie plastic leather). Good quality though, it's soft and supple. Feels better than the MBTex I have on my ML, but probably not quite as durable. And you're right....model options in Canada are weird....cloth in OR, cement only avail in Sport models, no damn parking sensors, etc.

 

Yeah. Can’t get a manual dc off road, can’t get an auto dc sb sport. It makes no sense to me.

Toyota’s website allows you to get an off road in cement. I also found one here on autotrader:
