Here are some night time pictures of two shades of light, red, and whiteish blue. As you can tell, whiter lights are brighter

 

Been tied up with life recently, so I haven't been able to work on the truck much. Things have freed up a lot and so has my budget, so I'm ready to get back at it.

Just pulled my headliner out, and a lot of the trim pieces. Pulled the old liner cloth off, and replaced it with a new, black, softer fabric. Also painted the plastics as well as my MCMfab lightbar brackets which rusted out pretty badly. I also used a black fabric dye to black out the sun visors, because i did not feel able to re-wrap them with the edges being so dramatic. Waiting on dome/map light bulb upgrades to arrive, and I'll slap everything back inside the truck.

Got a interior recovery/survival kit I'm making up for the rear when it's all done, and on to some more off-road lighting projects after that.

Old liner off (was still REALLY glued on there, had to carefully scrape away all the leftovers):


And laid the new liner on and trimmed:


Make sure you that you are using the correct adhesive. After letting it dry, I wanted to wrap it around the edges to hide exposed fiberglass, but ran out of adhesive and just used superglue. Bad idea. Super glue reacted (with either fiberglass or new fabric material) and literally started smoking and bubbling and I feared I was going to start a fire. Also high risk of burning yourself, the bubbling reaction was impossible to work around without burning your fingers.

Got everything back in the truck, it feels great to have everything all blacked out. Something about the interior is less distracting while I'm driving now. I had a really hard time getting those clothes hangers back in, broke the clips, and ended up superglueing them all back together.
