+1 to plasti dip. I could not afford the wheels I want right now, so I got the look I like for cheap with no regrets. You can always do something permanent like paint or new wheels later.

See what the majority says...then do the opposite and you will have your own look.

I have to pass this little fact along: Back in my younger days I was into VW's as in Baja kits and such. MY last VW I purchased was YELLOW. I wanted the vehicle for what it had underneath is, not the color. This bug had a 1956 VW delivery Van front and rear end under it! Those back then used outboard gear boxes to get more torque from those little engines. I had Southern Volks in Dallas go through the transmission and gear boxes. It had "Alpine" gears in it, the lowest ever offered by VW. With 31" tires on it at 3000 RPM I could only go 60 MPH, but it sure would climb some hills!

Anyway, I painted that YELLOW bug with Krylon Ultra Flat Black spray paint, takes 6 cans to do it up right. I drove it like that for a year, touching up when needed which wasn't very often. I wanted to make her OD Green so I took it to the car wash as I always do before a spray can job and washed the vehicle with soap and water and for a rag to wipe the soap around with, I used wet or dry rough sandpaper. Hardly ANY of the black came off the YELLOW. In very few places the yellow would show through but for the most part it just looked like clean sanded black paint. The stuff sticks if you prepare that surface right. Use something you can touch up with and I highly recommend the Ultra Black spray paint. :)
