Been working on this for a few weeks now. 3D printed clear 60mm custom center caps to replace the factory issue Toyota and/or Enkei (in my case). The plan is to use 3 3v leds with minimal current draw and maximum light to back light the clear cap. The prototype in this post is being back lit by my monitor, we have mocked up some low power LEDs to get an idea on light and length of time they will go before replacing batteries. Roughly 1000hrs of continuous use per 3v 2024 cell. Bigger battery = longer life. The boards we are building for these will have accelerometer switch or IR Sensor for motion and a light sensor so they only come on at night, all controlled with a small pic or pi processor. This was going to be a one off project but I'm kind of thinking that others could possibly be interested.
