I finally got my LEDs installed today, it's not the final version, but I'm good to go for now. I bought a dash switch to override them whenever I want, that will be a summer project. These things are B R I G H T!!

I tied the lights into the yellow wire going to the trailer plug..... the trailer backup wire. They look crooked in the picture, but its the camera angle, they are straight.

The install was pretty easy, the holes are existing in the bumper, put a screw in for a ground, hook to the yellow wire going to the trailer plug. These lghts are 15 watts each, a total of 2.5 amps, I figured whatever non LED backup bulbs would be on a trailer would draw more than that. Long term I'll put a relay in so that I can override them while driving or parked if necessary. The hardest part of the job was finding the lights that I wanted. I bought these CREE LEDs on EBay and they shipped directly from overseas.

Wilcam, some guys install these in fenderwells as off road lights to see rocks when they're wheeling.
