    hi all,
I installed an LED bar on my Tacoma. Everything went well but I want to replace the switch that came with the light with another that will fit in the middle console.
The original had 3 wires and the replacement has 4 wires.
Any idea where the wires suppose to go?

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
Double check with a voltmeter to make sure, but it looks like it's white to red next to green, blue to green, and black to black. Orange I believe is an illumination cable.

Thanks for the quick response. Mine is coming directly from the battery so I guess I will leave the red (2) unconnected.

Ok, so I put the black on the black duhh
Red(1) on the white and green with red (2) together on the blue. See pic 1
    What I have now
Pic 2 when the light is off
Pic 3 when the light is on
Since it is directly from the battery I will always have power even if the car is off.
Will this set up drain the battery? the small light will be on all the time.
With the old switch the red light always on tooimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

An led at that low of a wattage should drain your battery before you drive your truck assuming you drive it every day. Now if it sat for months then yes you'd eventually drain the battery, but a few hours over night is more of a nusense than taxing on the battery. You could just run your 2nd red wire to an illumination source (ex: illumination for the cluster) and just tap it in using one of these.t-taps.jpg 7693846-23.jpg

    Update:
    image.jpg

So after few tries: black on black (ground), 1st red on the blue (power out), and green on white (power in). This will leave the 2nd red which is for switch illumination.

    image.jpg
This empty fuse slot has +12v when light is on. So I used it to supply the switch illumination.

    image.jpg

Switch light is off when car is off.
And on as this pic when parking light or head lights are on.

image.jpg Headlights and LED bar are on.

    Thanks for your help.
