LED bulb conversion

    I have a 2008 4WD with the towing kit and I'm investigating a LED bulb conversion for the tail lights.
    It appears I would need to splice in a Load Resistor on each side for the turn signal part, but I'm wondering if the tow harness is wired in parallel with the tail lights then all trailers I tow would also need to have LED tail lights as well.
    I generally only tow one trailer so swapping out those bulbs to match isn't a big deal but I also don't want to limit myself from towing any other trailer with normal 1157 incandescent bulbs.
    Anyone run in to this already?
