LED bulbs keep falling out of socket

Anyone else have issues with bulbs falling out of the brake light/turn signal sockets over time? The bulbs I have (that were reasonably expensive) seem to keep falling out of the socket and into the lens housing every couple of months or less. It's getting annoying, especially since there's no indication that anything has happened.

I need a fix!

 

I've done a couple of tricks to have bulbs hold firm and get a solid electrical connection, solder an extra piece of wire to the tail or bend the tail over to make it twice as thick.

 

I used electrical tape to wrap around the bulb base and bulb holder. My LED's are heavy and would fall out several times a month. After taping them in, it has been a year without a problem once.
