I am looking into changing the color of my dash board and the center console lights behind the air conditiong knobs. Does anyone know the process I have to do to do this? What specific, (sizes), leds do I have to get? How do I rip the dash out?

The knob arrows may be changeable. There is a small piece of orange translucent plastic that is behind the arrow that appears to be clipped in. There is no bulb in the knob as they are lit by the backlighting of the A/C panel lights which are clear. I am planning on dissecting a knob this weekend to see if it is viable to change out the orange plastic to a blue plastic to match the lighted 4x4 switch kit I have coming from rcbs204, he's in the vendor section.

09+ tacomas u can change out the clock (3 LEDs) same as cluster

Steering wheel controls are 3 each side (depending what year trucks) same as cluster

Switches you need to solder in a resistor with led...alot harder than just the cluster swap, i normally supply the LEDs and resistors when people want the swap

Ya that's a good write up forthecontrols,

The resistors needed are 470 ohm resistors the small ones

I'll see if I can send you some pics on how I solder the lights on

A tip on that write up, do not pry up the LCD for the odometer. It will come out without bending the prongs. Just work each side up little by little.

I put a very small flathead screwdriver under it and VERY GENTLY levered up one side then the other until it came out..I didn't want to bend the prongs either.

Both write ups are very helpful. FINALLY a write up on how to rip the dash out! just got some of my leds in and just ordered more just in case so hoping to start this project soon. Thanks for all the help. Jerez- if you can tell me what i need to do with the resistors, I ordered the ones you said.

I had a bulb go out in my AC control panel recently. I ordered 2 different size LEDs from Super Bright, but neither one fit. I ended up getting a new incandescent bulb from a Toyota dealer and it cost...you're not gonna believe this...$18.95! How can they sleep at night?
