Passenger door does the same thing. I put resistors on with the map lights as well but no change. The thing with the resistors though is to my understanding the lights wouldn't work period unless the key was turned to acc. which is not the case here. It's only an issue after the truck has been sitting for 30 mins. It seems to me like everyone who has reported a similar issue had lights that wouldn't work at all unless the key was turned to acc.

Anyway, don't have time to try anything else right now, hopefully tonight.

Took another look at the wiring and I think I may have figured out the issue.

When set to "ON" the circuit just goes to ground. When set to "DOOR" the circuit goes back through the wiring (presumably to the ECU). The resistors I added were going from positive to ground.

Looked through the manual and found this:
To prevent the battery from being dis-charged, the light will automatically turn off after 30 minutes in the following cases.
    - The light is left at the “ON” position.
    - The door is left open with the switch at the “DOOR” position.

So I think by having the resistors wired to ground I was fooling the computer into thinking the light was set to "ON" and it was killing the circuit to save the battery. I moved the connector on the resistors to be on the negative side of the bulb regardless of where it's switched. Fingers crossed, we'll see what happens in 30 mins.

Seems like most people just soldered the resistors to the contacts on the bulb itself. That seemed sloppy to me so I wanted to wire it in with the switch. Unfortunately I blindly followed what I had done years ago when I first put a (shitty) LED bulb in there. All good now though. :woot:

Moral of the story, if you have to add resistors, don't wire them to ground. Oh, and I tried unhooking the resistors and it didn't work, still need them even with the modern bulb from superbrighleds.com.
