it is just as easy you jus have too pop off the small square plastic piece closest to the rear view mirror.. then you jus pull off..

i have the same thing but my LEDs are red, im assuming the previous owner was a police officer of some kind, as most police cars have red dome lights inside them to not glare and allow you to see at night still inside the vehicle.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I did this mod but I hooked up the driver side map light to the dome so that it comes on when I open the door. The only problem I'm having is the LED's are not pulling enough current so they flicker until in turn on the key.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

I have the problem with the dome lights flickering until I turn on the switch. I will hang on to them for a few days and see if anyone has a fix for this and if not I will take them back. The smallest festoon in the pack is almost too big for my dome light. Anyone else have this problem too?

So these wont work in a 2nd gen. truck?

    anybody know what will?

EDIT: The auto-zone s-20 fits ok in the 2011 dome, had to move it off to the side, but provides plenty of light.
no flickering either, has me wondering if that isnt an 'older battery/voltage drop'issue.. (brand new one in new truck...)

ordered the 168 wedge bases from superbright, we'll see how they go.

manager at auto-zone was stoked to hear that those lights were available online, now he can finish led-ing his little ranger.....

im not sure but it could be either your battery or the bulb not connect ing good just twist the bulb around a little and then see if it will work...

Another issue I noticed could be that the little terminal plug that connects the festoon adapter to the led pad (cheap plastic chinee crap) easily pushes through the female end. This leaves a small amount of energized metal exposed. In the tight confines of the dome light, that metal could potentially make contact with the factory lampholder of the opposite polarity. Result: short, or spark, or arc.... any of which could cause flickering or worse......

I taped the whole shebang with a small piece of super 33+.....but any electric tape would do for 12V
