    Eric,
Not understanding the question.... as in the HID's coming loose? If so, I would have to check. They were installed on Monday.

There has been some complaints that the Morimoto bulbs moving when hitting bumps on rough terrain. Just curious if you've noticed this as well.

May not notice it as much in the projectors but I did notice that the bulb itself has some give in the base. If it was rigid I think it would probably destroy the light after a couple of bumps.

    Hi Sam B,

With your Morimoto HIDs did you install the relay that attaches directly to the battery and then attaches to the bulbs harnesses or did you go straight plug n'play?

If you did install the relay, where did you mount it in the engine compartment?

Trying to find a spot where I don't have to drill for the mounting screw!

Just to the left of the battery I removed the screw from the radiator shroud. Had to drill the relay bracket hole slightly larger to get the screw to fit. The relay hangs straight down.

From Sam B's earlier post - these are the high beams:
    The VLED LMZ Platinums
    http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/headlights/h11-h8-h9/h11-ultra-lmz.html

I am ordering a set today. I assume the collar color (black or silver) is simply personal preference and for 99% of the people there is no preference for one vs the other.

Hank...correct. And the recommended installation is to run the light all the way out from the collar then adjust so the lights are horizontal(side to side). There is a line on the light end and it should be vertical. takes a couple of trys but not hard to adjust.

    Sam,

Really cool of you to post that info - many thanks!

For the fogs, does VLEDS not offer any direct replacement LED bulbs for the 2016 Taco?

The fogs are H11's. I don't know of a specific replacement. It is a matter of choice. That's why I went with the Xenon Depot. They don't need the VLED LMZ's.

I went with the VLED LMZ's for my Fogs, 3000 LM.

I will be doing the morimoto HID for the low beams. I am trying to figure out the best LED's for the high beams. The LMZ put out 4500 lumens, the OPT7 put out 3500 lumens and the morimoto XB puts out 3000 lumens. I would imagine that not all are rated the same and maybe one performs better in our projector better?

Sam, what are your thoughts of your LMZ's for your highs compared to the stock halogens?

I went with some starnill LED bulbs off Amazon, rated at 3300 lumens for my high beams. They were $66. A friend of mine owns his own performance car shop and just so happens to be a distributer of morimoto hid kits so I ordered one from him for $125. What price are others paying for the kit?
