I had the DDM sabers, and they sucked bad, any of the LED bulbs just don't have the throw so I got rid of them and now I am looking into HID, but in the meantime I bought some Sylvania Ultra H11 that have worked awesome especially in the rain and snow. The LED light color sucks for the rain and fog and snow and I really like the stock color for adverse weather. That being said, I am still looking into HID kits eventually as a possible replacement but just not sure if I want to screw with it. Just got me a 32 inch stealth bar and pods i need to wire up soon as I get my switch.

    @Gnarman
I love them, I put some black oak led pods on them, by far one of my favorite mods so far. I highly recommend Black oak led. The brackets are caliraised.

I have Xenon Depot. Low's, hi's and fogs. Pricey, but I'm happy.

Is the throw distance shorter than stock halogen? Which setup did you have?

the LED kit from xenondepot description claims the distance is longer than OE halogen. With the sale and additional 10% and free shipping it's
    $113

BFXenon is $160 and I'm unaware of any coupons/discounts, but it does have a lifetime warranty.

I know with LEDs in my experience you definitely get what you pay for, but I have never used LED Headlight bulbs only full headlight replacements (JB speaker on my old wrangler). I may not get any and just keep halogen, main reason for this thread honestly is to make my mind up.

I have the Morimoto 2 strokes also. One pair on the Taco and one pair on the GF's Honda Pilot. been on for about 6 months now and the the improvement is immense for both vehicles. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I also bought the HID full projector retrofit kit for the Tacoma and will eventually be putting these in once I can get around to opening up my lights to do the BHLM. The Morimotos will then go to my high beams

Maybe I need to just get a better set up, DDM in the past has been good but the sabers sucked.

One thing I liked about the xenon depot brand, is this second-generation LED light has higher lumens most LEDs on the market have lower lumens, and also the bulb is clockable to allow you to turn the beans to get the most out put. When I was talking to the owner of the company about LED versus HID, he says even with the improvements of LED bulbs his HID kits put more output of usable light out. Even with this knowledge I still want to try the LEDs

Was the canbus needed? Not really sure what it does.

From what I've read the headlights aren't "connected" to canbus. This means if the bulb goes out, the truck will not tell you about it as it's not part of the "bus". If it was connected and you changed the bulb, it would probably throw an error code because it doesn't recognize the bulb.

    I hope that makes sense.

No. I believe it's if your leds are flickering. Not sure. Mine are perfect.

Maybe too bright! I get people flashing their brights at me from time to time thinking mine are on. Thing is, my lows aren't up in the air or anything. Just bright. And not that blue or purple garbage. The "tone" if you want to call it that matches the factory led dlr's.

They're in the process of developing amber/yellow LED fog light kit. No word on when it will release, but it's a work in progress.

I posted this in another thread but this one seems more up to date so i figured i might as well put it in here:

I have been running the morimoto hid low beams/fogs and the vleds led high beams. after about a year i noticed one of my low beams wasn't the right color and the light output dropped. took a picture and after a few emails the retrofit source sent me a brand new set of bulbs! very happy with my experience with them. now i have noticed that one of the vleds high beams has one of the two leds not working and the other side will occasionally flicker indicating that it is failing too.
the vleds has a one year warranty which passed a little bit before they failed. they are also now 200 bucks instead of the 150 i paid - a halloween discount.
almost all of my driving is at night so assuming that i bought another set from them..... i would be looking at 200 bucks every year or so on high beams.
I am trying to explore my options for high beams ... any suggestions?
