@Santana2017 I emailed GTR lighting asking about the new Gen 3. I asked if they had a chance to test it on a Tacoma, since they already tested on a Tundra. They have not. They did however point me to Headlightrevolution.com. I contacted them, and got a response back yesterday. They have competed testing on a 2017 Tacoma SR5 and will be posting the results, reviews, pictures, later this month. They did not give me a firm date as to when they would have the results posted.

@MoridinTX thx. Yh the Gen 3 led lights look very cool and pretty well made. Would love to see how they perform. I been considering these bulbs as an option for my truck.

    Bryan,
I received my PIAA 17202 kit. Do you have any suggestions on the headlamp install?
    Thanks!

We carry both H11 LED headlight kits, and H11 HID kits. We still recommend going with HID over LED for this application given that the vehicle has projector headlight housings. If you're looking for the brightest, whitest, and most OEM Functionality then a 4300k HID kit is the way to go... This review does a pretty good job showing the differences:

Debating on GTR Lighting Gen 3 LED, Xenon Depot Xtreme LED KIT, or the new SL1 LED kit from Diode dynamics. Or a Xenon depot HID kit. Can anyone give me some insight?

LED's are directional. They can be bright but it's tough to get the light output you can achieve from HID's. There are LOTS of comparisons around, but ultimately the beam on a HID is more focused and you get less light dispersion.

I have Morimoto HIDs for my low beams and am looking for good LEDs for the high beams.

Only Xenon Depot seems to have an H9 LED set that would fit the high beams. I don't see an H9 on the Retrofit Source for Morimoto.

I'm running Morimoto's on my Tacoma and I like them a lot. Some have complained of wobble over bumps but I haven't personally experienced it. I've got XenonDepot HID's on my wife Yukon and they're also very good. Frankly can't go wrong with either IMO.

difficulty of install? This is my first time trying led kit or HID kit. Im planning on getting the morimoto fog lights for my tacoma. I want the lows and fogs to match.

LED's are going to be the easiest, basically just plug into your existing harness. HID's are a little more involved, but still pretty easy. You just need to mount your stuff up correctly. Lots of "how to's" online and even on this forum. Just get matching color temperatures and you'll be fine with them matching.

After reading this thread, I think I'm going to try morimoto. Anyone order the 'anti flicker' links? Not sure if it's necessary

Hmmm, I thought LED's were the new thing and HID's were dead. Now I'm thinking otherwise.

Check post #104... definitely not dead... Cars are beginning to come with them from the factory but they're VERY specific housings made for the LED's. Frankly factory LED's will lose steam as soon as laser takes off.
