Hello Dave, Im having trouble with my LED headlight Install. Installing LED headlights 81150-04290 and 81110-04290 with headlight conversion harness TRD 2016-23 SKU TRD-LED-Base.

Drivers side in first. When tested, everything looked normal. Although high beams do not go on when interior turn signal lever is pushed forward. High beams only come on when lever is pulled towards driver. (didn't realize this until after I installed passenger side)

    Installed passenger side headlight.

Pulsing day time running lights and drivers side high beam is on. High beam on passenger side does not work.

All wires from harness match colored wires and clips are completely clipped in.

Yes I was I guess I should have tagged him. Figured out the issue. Had the passenger side high beam plugged in wrong, just needed to reverse it. Thanks.

Thanks Crash. @lagunaseca22 so the passenger high beam is white w black (ground) and yellow (positive), was it just dirty wires on the OEM side which caused the confusion? I'd think driver side would be the easier one to get wrong b/c it's solid white and white w black. Wish I could somehow prevent the dumb male H9 connectors from being able to snap in either way :(

Just wanted to confirm root cause here, don't know what else I can really do, solid black for ground is not any less confusing than white w black stripe for most people.

Yes, just had it snapped in the wrong way. On all the install videos I watched it said to make sure to not mix the high beam with the low beam / low beam high beam plug. but i wasnt even thinking the connector could snap in the opposite way. Rookie move on my part.

Wire harness was great and issue was completely mine.

    Thanks!

I have definitely contemplated moving the ground to the Turn or DRL connector, but I think for the time being I will keep it on the high beam connector. High beams in the halogen assembly are the highest rated circuit and therefore the most appropriate to use even though the entire LED assembly likely does not pull more current than any of the 4 grounds could carry on their own. I use DRL ground for my grille light feed so Turn ground would be the likely candidate if I were to move it, then there would be no way to get the odd behavior you describe which occurs when the assembly isn't properly grounded.

On my personal truck I spent 1-2h cutting and crimping on a 4 way 090II sealed connector for high and low beams, same as is used in the 4Runner LED headlight. In hindsight I'd say that was one of the least useful modifications I've made, the h9's are ugly but they work.
