I was told by a master tech here on the forum that the 16 tacos are a canbus system. When researching LED headlights, on some sites it specifically asks you if its a canbus system. If I remember right there was no LED that was approved for canbus system.

@Broccoli Depends how may watts those lights are. Remember the factory H9 is a 65 watt bulb, and the H11 is a 55 watt, so there shouldn't be any issue of heat being an issue.

All I can say from the forums I have read is that there a lot more people having issues with HID systems than LEDs. This system requires no changing or pealing cables or any change. Just take the halogen bulb out out the LED in and plug in the back that is it

Just seems a bit fishy that CVOTRDSPORT mentioned the canbus system at 12:21 PM today, and then at 12:52 PM (CST) the ebay listing description was edited to add that... Hmmm

It seems ridiculous that I am trying to recommend a product that I bought for my truck and all I get is a bunch of guys just questioning my integrity and my posts ? are you F/K me? . What is the purpose of this site? isn't to exchange opinions, reviews and any information related to a vehicle that we all love or to be questioning anyone that comes to this site? JEEZZZ unbelievable. Are we in the Tacoma Forum or CIA? Get a life people.

These are the LED light conversion kits, not HID or Morimoto

Sorry I should have phrased better. Should I purchase these LEDs? Or should I purchase Morimoto HIDs?

I cannot honestly say since I do not have a set of these LED's to play with. What I can say from my experience and others on this forum is that unless there is a drastic change in the way these LED's output light then NO... they are not better than HID's. Not trying to bust anyone's chops or call the product crappy but I and numerous others have played with LED (VLED LMZ's and other brands) in the projector and while they do put out alot more light it is really dispersed and spread out. The LED's do not play well with the projector housing. So we moved the expensive VLED's to the FOG or High Beam and put Morimoto HID's in the projectors. And I DO NOT work for either of the aforementioned companies.

Here are a few other comparisons we just installed for you guys thinking HID are brighter. The top headlights are using a hid kit ( unknown brand ) and the bottom FOGLIGHT is using our LED kit. Our kit uses larger LEDs boards compared to the other kits listed on other posts

Here is a comparison with our led unit compared to the other led kits. The led boards don't even compare.

Serious question...I know nothing about LEDs, HIDs or any other type of light bulb but why didn't Toyota put in factory LED highlights and fog lights...only DRLs??

Send me a set and let me compare! If the HID's are unknown then its an unfair comparison. What lumen? What wattage? compare apple to apple(in the projector housing). Not saying that they are no good as they look promising but experience of 3rd party LED in a projector housing says the light may be bright but it is spread and not concentrated by the projector as it should be.
