shit!! now i actually have a reason to get a hoop scoop that makes tons of sense. The placement is ideal, no hood glare, pretty stealth.....awesome call dude

I work for a power lighting company and we utilize LED's all the time. The only thing I see being overlooked is the massive amount of heat being dissipated so close to the hood.I am sure the entire housing of this fixture is made of metal to dissipate the heat from the LEDs. This might not be a problem now, but after extended hours of use this might do something to the paint on the hood right beneath these LEDs. (premature fading, ect.) Just a thought.

Is there enough space to mount behind the screen? Im sure it would cause a little less output but would help with stealth, and protection from rock chips.

That is not the same light. Its just the same company but not nearly as much output/width/even light. That light is not worth buying IMO. The only lights worth buying from Rigid are the Specter lights. Hate the beam pattern of the other lights. There are Specter 6"and 10" bars, D2 Dually, and SRM. I would not mount the regular D2, SR, or bars if they were free hust because I don't like the beam patterns.

They hybrid optic relector beam patterns are not smooth like the specter. Don't cheap out... get the Specter or just keep saving.

It will remove ALL the output you pay for getting the Specter over the regular SR. It will remove about a third of your output or more than the output of an entire headlight.

I put one in my scoop, but I didn't remove the grill. The light is so bright I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

I am very glad the scoop has an actual use now, other than hood rigidity.

I also took a series of shots with different lights on for comparison.

The one on my previous post is the LED solo.

    These five are:
    Low
    High
    Low + Fog
    Led + Fog
    High + led + fog

I have the front part of the headlight housing blacked out with 6000k HIDs aimed slightly lower than normal, but I also have 3" of lift. The fogs are regular 3000k halogens.

So I purchased this light bar off of Amazon under the assumption nothing had changed in the hood on the 2013. Boy was I wrong. Now I have to figure out where to put this thing as there is absolutely no room inside the new scoop design as well as the different cross members underneath not allowing for mounting. Shit shit shit!

I wanted it to be up a little higher but I suppose after I get a lift done it won't be so bad down there. And I can't hide my disapointment at not having it in the hood scoop. Grrr!! Just looks so bad ass in there!

Something needs to be done in there on the new skewps. Dunno how but someone will be able to figure it out. Or a custom enclosure

Finally wedged the durn thing in, nylock nuts were slightly overlocking before tightening the assembly up... Still need to wire it up, hopefully next weekend. Thank you for the inspiration/directions!
