For those unaware of the roof rack build, please visit this topic for more info:

    Untitled-4.jpg

I've been gathering interest for the last few weeks about producing these roof racks for the community. Several people have approached me about buying one, so here's your chance.

This is a variation of some of the roof racks seen on the offroad/4x4 scene. It has six cut-outs for a specific 18w flush mount LED light bar. When these lights are turned on, it shines light onto both sides of the truck, allowing better visibility at night for offroading, camping, or when youre loading tools/stuff in and out of your truck. The rack features a cut-out on the front of it, for a 40" light bar. It features styling/curves that follow the body lines of 2nd generation tacomas. Its extremely light weight, and made out of 3/16" high grade aluminum for corrosion resistance and strength. The entire rack fully assembled weighs approx 27lbs. It uses the popular "T-Slot" cross bars which can accept a wide range of hooks, holders and brackets to hold your gear. This rack was designed for a 2005-2010 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. This rack has NOT been tested yet on 2011-2015 trucks, and may require modification to clear the shark-fin antenna.

I'm going to be offering DIY 'kits' for my integrated LED roof racks. The kit you purchase from me will include many of the parts you need to build your own LED roof rack, but you will also need to order from some other vendors as well (more info on that below). I am doing it this way to reduce the final cost to you, as it doesn't make sense for me to order from international companies, and pay duties/shipping/fees, only to ship them out a day later. I would have to mark up the parts, which makes it more expensive to the end user. It makes more sense to cut me out as the middleman, and just go straight to the distributors yourselves.

In order to build your own LED roof rack with this kit, you will need:

    - (6x) 18w LED Flush-Mount Lights
    - (6x) Flush-Mount Light Angle Spacers (optional)
    -
    (1x) 40" LED Light-Bar (optional)
    - (1x) Roof Rack Frame Rails (Incl Front & Rear Wind Guard)
    - (1x) Roof Rack Mounting & Assembly Hardware Kit
    - (8x) T-Slot Cross-Bars 47" Long w/ 1/4"-20 Tapped Ends
    - Misc Wire, Switches, Connectors, and Splices to wire your LED lights

The LED flush mount lights can be purchased here: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/2x-7-18W-LE...990b09a:g:k0AAAOSwx8pa43Up:rk:13:pf:0&vxp=mtr

The T-Slot Cross Bars can be purchased here: https://www.tnutz.com/product/ex-10...slotted-aluminum-extrusion-black-anodize-new/

The Frame Rail kit, Hardware Kit, and Angle spacers can all be purchased from me. The angle spacers are ONLY needed if you want your flush-mount lights to face down at the ground, instead of directly outwards, at the roof rack's height. Angle spacers are 3D printed and can be made in any color you desire. I recommend black, as it blends in with the light and goes great with a black roof rack. You can order different degrees of angle if you want your lights to shine at different spots. I will be offering a 15* and a 25* spacer

    dasdasdasdas.jpg

The Frame Rail kit is made from 3/16" 5052 grade aluminum, and will be $449.99 USD

The angle spacers will be sold individually for $9.99 USD, or 6 for $49.99 USD

The hardware kit will be sold for $79.99 USD

I will include a list of all the hardware needed, in case you want to source the bolts/spacers/nuts yourself and save some money that way.

Shipping will be from Canada, and will vary depending on your location. Please factor this into your final cost. It could be anywhere from $50-$100 to ship if you are in the US, and will vary depending on what Zip code you send me.

I will be making these in batches of 3 or more. There will be an expected lead time of 2-3 weeks. If I get enough interest, I could drop that lead time to a week.

If you have any questions, please ask. I am still editing this topic to include more info/pictures

I love this idea! I cant begin to tell you how much I love this idea. How much weight would the rack be able to hold? Could you post some more pictures of the top and back views? When are you planning on getting a Gen2 model made up?

Have you come up with a version for AC's? Or do you plan to?

No plans. At this point im only doing this specific model for DC trucks. The AC models need to have their roof drilled and riv-nuts installed, and I dont see there being as much demand for those at this point

Great job OP! How is it for wind noise? I can help with cut and measuring for 11-15 shark fin if needed.

The cost of aluminum went up a lot in my area, and I dont think id would make sense to continue this project. I cant compete with any of the other mass-produced roof rack companies, and frankly I would need to take multiple orders up front and have a lead time of 2-3 weeks in order to be able to make this happen. Which I dont think is an option currently with the demand I saw on here and TW on Fb

Could you work out a deal/sell the idea to Prinsu/cbi? So they could offer the Led side panels with the cut outs for purchase with new Prinsu orders and you get a cut?

Unless someone from those companies/other companies messages me looking to inquire about using the design, I probably wouldnt do that. I wouldnt want to be "that guy" trying to sell my idea/design to an already reputable company :p
