Full in spot light. The bd bars look great. But $1000 for a 40" you've gotta be fucking kidding me. Haha

Bigger reflectors have always been the anwser. Vison x finally put a high power led in a 4/6/8" housing thank god a while a go. Still over priced. But the right idea.

I like the bd stuff. But not sure it's worth near 8-10x the cost.

Then yeah, osram might be your best bet.. curved that is. Or, I'm really happy with my vision x clones.. evo primes. Which are now discontinued but clones are still available. Single row. Big reflectors with 10watt leds. Also have beam options if you can find them. Combo/spot/flood. Gonna throw a couple output shots of mine out there if you haven't seen it yet..

The one that i got was a ebay China bar for $270, and it is probably best bang for the buck thing that I've bought for my truck. You won't be disapointed, i couldn't imagine paying $1000 for one that has the same light output.

Cool man. For 169 bucks. Figure it can't hurt. My lf240s and his Hellas will do the distance. This will be a nice inbetween light to fill the rest with the fogs.

I have to say Baja Designs quality is second to none. Just put this 30" Stealth bar I had from my sons side by side, and added the amber S2's for running in dust, plenty of light for prerunning or cruising, and no annoying roof bar. The wiring is top notch also and easy to install.BD lights.jpg

New "5D" led light bar find.

There's others listed claiming a "5D" lens, but it's just a combination of osram fisheye lenses and regular reflectors. Not sure how practical this bar is and dont personally see the need for low and high beam modes. But a new find nonetheless. Only seeing a 20" available atm too btw.

Any news, pics, comments from OSRAM owners.

I'm looking to get an OSRAM 50" 480w curved. Also need to know if my battery and alternator are affected by the wattage.

o_O .. and I thought they were incandescent.

Seriously though, I know they are LED, it's the 480 watts that I was asking about. I have a RTMR panel and 6 switch set up that I'm installing, so I was wondering if I need a relay rated higher than 30 amps for this bar.

    a watt is a watt.

Its total BS that people think LEDs draw less power. That logic only works if you use less LEDs. But people dont..

480w at 14v, which is what the truck should be at when running is still 34.2 amps...So yea. Probably should get a 40 amp relay and fuse considering that at 12v, when the truck is off, it'll be at 40 amps.

AKA...that is a lot. half of the output of a stock 1st gen tacoma alternator actually.

Yup. Which is why I spent a good chunk of change on a crazy ho alt. Didn't wanna go messing around with electrical risks. Just with my 42" and 20" connected atm, I still have issues when I blast my subwoofer for a short period at low idle.

I had 682w on Frank at one point. After i upgrade..i'll have over a kW just facing forward.

Dual batteries for me and new alternator though.

whoops. Miss added. Not over a kW up front. But close. 950ish w. Then theres the side and rear lights..so..over a kW in all.

Dayum. Yeah a dual battery is in my future. Think that'll help a ton isolating it all to that second battery. Sub just kills it. I have about 550 watts total. Not including the headlights or amplifier. Some are disconnected atm due to a need for rewiring/waterproofing/past cosmetic fixes.. Do plan to add more later on too.

But damn, I thought I had a lot of juice flowing, heh. Suppose it is in led terms. Guessing yours was all hid/otherwise?

Jeevus. Lol. Yeah I got a wimpy system. But even so, my led setup doesn't seem to like it. Got a dc power engineering alt pushing 120 idle amps and it's still not enough. Or maybe it is and it's just screaming for that dual battery. Not sure.

But anyways back on topic, those osrams seem a little higher powered for their good. At least from what I've seen. But would have to see it in person. Seems like they'd be amazing for the amount of power they require. Like I said before I think they have an awesome throw, but won't be able to really see their true output on camera.. Have you decided on a light bar brand/type yet? I know you were looking..

Yea im gonna get the Osram 42'' curved with 5d optics. 560w alone...

I still am gonna run 2 Hella 500s with 55w HIDs and my LF240s too. So i don't REALLY care if the LED bar doesn't reach...i mean..from light projection graphs it won't come close to the same distance, which is fine. But it'll be a nice semi flood/medium range light.

Probably convert my 510 piaas to hid too.
