    Nice^^

Here is a photo of my 560w OSRAM bar. Can't say how acurate the photo is as i didn't take it and i haven't seen it yet. Its at my buddies. Looks pretty freaking bright though. Interesting pattern.

Those XPR clones, where did you get yours from originally then?

im pretty sure i just purchased the same 42" 560w light bar. here are some things you should know about it

i want to start by saying i am not an led expert so feel free to point out my errors

the first red flag is the 30a fuse. at 14v, it should draw 40a. the wire gauge is scary thin for 30a as well. but that is a different topic. upon opening it up, there are 3w 2525 chips in it (cree xb-d 2.45 knock off). this was the real shocker as I expected to find over driven 5-6w chips.

the seller doesn't care and knows people will very rarely check current draw or open it up as the lenses do make it harder to verify the chip size. so he keeps on advertising them as 7w/560w bars.

Hm. Hard to tell, photos are kinda blurry. But yeah yer right looks like you got scammed. Even says 2525 on the board. I wondered about that on some of those bars. I always inspect the leds as best I can without disassembling the bar. All my 10 watt bars have the cree xml's. Just got a 20" with 15watt cree mkr2 leds and they seem to be those exactly. I wanna get a multimeter and try testing them all out. As well as a lux meter.

Anyways that sucks man. Got a link to that bar or the seller? Was gonna say we should make a blacklist of bad/suspicious sellers but.. First I've heard of an actual "scam" bar. I've seen a few fishy looking bars on eBay. And heard about epistar vs cree scams in the past. But nothing like this yet actually reported.

Dude I guess I missed this question you asked me a while back. Ha. Guess that's why you were asking me about my clones in the other thread. Lol. But yeah xpr clones from eBay as well. Just a different seller.

And not sure if you want more info but here it is anyways.. They have a nice spread and nice spot beam. But I think the evo primes are still a tad bit better in design than the xpr. However I did only test a 12" xpr. Vs a 20" evo prime. I'd like to get my hands on a 42" xpr and compare that to my 42. Because the light from the 12" is pretty awesome still, considering it being compared to the 20".

Xpr seems much, "cleaner". But evo still has more useable light. And the light from the diffused lenses on evo make that light spread directly out to the sides like 180* Ha. Not a lot of light. But still useable light.

Hard to tell without comparing it properly 20vs20. But some cool beam pattern comparing.

    20" evo prime(top)
    12" (not 6")xpr (bottom)

Those are the pictures i used to report it to ebay. im sure i have better ones somewhere but i can almost guarantee there is not a 2.5mm form factor chip that can be driven anywhere near 5w. 7w is completely out of the question. I go in knowing that they will be knock off led chips, with questionable quality, but being completely scammed is a new one. Either way, i got my money back and i sent the light bar back to them in pieces.

Unfortunately with the 4d/5d lenses you can not see the chip clearly.

Mine is different. Not a Cree one. It's an osram one. I'll take it part when I get it. Probably keep it either way. It was cheap. And not wanting it for my main might anyways. My lf240s and hella hid lights are the main ones. This is more of a fill light.

Will be way to late for me to return it anyways. Haha

Yea the Evo looks more like a combo beam. Nice flood light and decent spot. The xpr is very focused. The cut off is dramatic on the sides. Think I like the evo one better though.

May end up getting one of those for my other truck.

It actually was advertised as an osram when i first bought it. Regardless i was searching around for similar experiences an found this thread so i figured i would chime in even though i dont own a tacoma. Just trying to spread the word about this bar and the seller. Honestly if i didnt break the rubber weather strip, i would of kept it too as it was pretty cheap

When I get mine I'll tear mine apart. Mine was also a different seller. But I wouldn't be suprised if the result is the same..

Well you guys should be able to see the leds inside. Shine a flashlight in and look closely. Or Shine a flashlight and take a pic with a camera held right up to the glass lens.

Camera couldn't quite focus well enough that close, but I could see it better with my eyes. This is the 15watt cree mkr2 in my 4d 20". Looks like an xml, but it's not. I was curious too when I got mine. Thinking I'd get scammed and itd have the 10watt leds with 4d lenses to hide that fact. Guess it's probably a little harder to see them in the smaller lenses. But I watched a video comparison on an osram and it showed that it did in fact have the fisheye leds inside.

And here's the xml in the evo prime clone

Lol yeah I've seen those! There's someone on here that has them retrofitted into their 11st gen housings. Lmao. But I guess They do have somewhat of a cutoff. Something to do with the reflector design. But still.. No way I'd try those.

Hmmmm wished I would've found this earlier. Just bought this one for $55. Should be here tomorrow according to UPS. I'll post my findings after opening it up so we can keep a running tab on any good/bad finds.

So I just picked up these 120W 7" Round Spot lights (10Wx12). You mostly see this design with only 60W (5Wx12)....but I happen to come across these for $134/pair with 10,200 lumens each..so why not. These were to replace my horrible Hella 700FF HID conversions. They might have been a decent idea 5 years ago...but the beam pattern was always horrible and the cheapo DDM ballast took a full minute to warm up. I was never happy with them.

Any who these lights are bad ass. Just what I was looking for. I need something with a thinner profile than the Cannons to fit my grill guard. I have a 300W double row 32" Cree Spot light bar...which produces more of a Euro-beam in my opinion. So I was looking for a concentrated long range spot for long distance. The construction seems top notch and they are very heavy. The only negative comment I can say is the adjustment up and down doesn't have much fine tuning. It has this plastic gear/cog wheel. I wasn't able to set the vertical where I wanted, so I ended up putting some shims in the front to get them to aim up just were I wanted.

    Headlights and 32" LED Bar

32" LED light bar and the new 120W x2 LED Spot light . Yes they completely over power the 300W 32" LED Bar.

    20160322_200931_zps3wcte8cs_0d1f9cab358ec9d3e186c318b6a9f03f5ecdc7e4.jpg

Headlights and the new 120W x2 LED Spot light . This after I optimized the aiming at a long distance. Bottom of the spot on top of the headlight beam and at a distance the gap in between completely closed and the spread is perfect at a distance. I will try to get some long range photos this weekend.

Meh, got mine in and I'm not happy. The listing showed the bubble Osram led chip and black background. I got this:

    image.jpg

What makes it worse is that the seller is ignoring the fact I said it was defective due to the wire hanging over the board and the fact it was white instead of black. They say it's the correct light due to the package label I emailed to them. They said if I didn't like it, I could return it (at my cost) or keep it with $10 off

Dang yet another one. Those are Phillips leds. And that wire issue is no bueno for sure. Not sure what the details are regarding Phillips leds specifically. Haven't really read up on those. Wonder why they use those though. In the 4d/5d bars. Cheaper costs maybe. I think the osram leds would be better suited for those optics. However, you might get a better spread with the Phillips. Not sure. But I'd be returning it myself.

Someone should start making a thread with an ongoing list of unreputable sellers. Seems like this might start to become a common issue with some overseas companies. Wonder how many people got a bar and didn't even bother checking out the leds.
