hey guys I'm new to the forum and tried to search how to reseal a light bar on here and google with no luck, maybe im looking in the wrong places. Anyways, i just got a light bar for chrsitmas (cheap Amazon 20") and was doing some reading that the cheap ones have issues with sealing. i want to reseal mine before i install it i would like to reseal it. does anybody know how to reseal the light bar or what to use to reseal it?

Well, you could take it apart and run a light bead of silicone or butyl rubber. That's the only way to ensure it won't leak. I don't think it would help to put it on the outside like a headlight. Most have a seal inside around the lens, as well as the end caps. Mine appeared to have a rubber seal that the lens sat on top of, and was compressed with the front screws, as well as the end caps. But I'm unsure of how others are sealed internally. Only way to know is to disassemble and see as all bars are gonna be different. Honestly I wouldnt even worry about it. If it gets condensation, try and return it. Or go from there and disassemble if/when that happens and a return is not acceptable. We don't hear too many issues of leaking. But it does happen. I had that happen with my rigid srq's. Didn't bother with taking them apart.. But it only did it once and hasn't happened again since.

Bull bar, but more to come
I got some cheap LEDs from Amazon too, ran around the edge of the light with black rtv gasket maker and also where the wires went into the light housing. Worked well so far. Good luck!
