I saw your post on the other thread about these. Wasn't gonna respond because I dont know much about them or have seen any members here with them. I think mostly jeep owners have their lights, mostly because they sell kits that include them. Might spy on those forums and see what others have said...

But to me, they look like they are a bit behind on led tech. They look very basic. As in basic "optic-less" reflectors. And for those prices, there's better options out there. They are basically there for the quick fix for jeep owners, in my eyes.

I made a big post regarding this somewhere but can't seem to find it. I'd look in this thread to start with if you haven't already
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/led-light-bar-quest.352070/
Lots of good info about various types of bars.
If I find my post I'll put it up. Might be in this thread.

Yep. Might check the 3rd gen forum too. See what other guys have put on theirs. I think I've seen the double rows that are mounted behind like posted above, as well as the slim single rows mounted in front/flush. Not sure if either requires cutting, didn't look at that. But may be a deciding factor for you if so. There are some nice single rows out there. Most of the slims I think have 5 watt led's. Then there's the regular single rows that have 10watt led's but not sure of fitment on those as they're probably double the height of a slim.

I really don't care for the 4d or 5d types myself. They do offer probably the most distance, but that's it. Osram is supposed to be better, if it actually has those. But that's the issue some others had, that they claimed to have the 5watt fisheye Osram led's(which compliment those reflectors better than Phillips or cree) but ended up with either or and not the osram, and 3watts at that.

I would check this one out. 3d really is a better design (unless you really want that long distance pencil spot beam with 4d or 5d) but you'll get way more utilized light out of a 3d design. And a more even distribution. Check the pics they posted on Amazon. He's using the 30" 3d. He's got one pic with headlights, one with a 20", then one with the 3d 30" added and it's a huge difference. In still waiting to find one in 42" with 5watt cree with that same design..

    Also check out my 20" in 3d 10watt versus a 4d version with 15 watt led's.

The 3d version has a MUCH better spread. You can also get these in 30". But they are more $ than regular double rows. But also outperform them.

Me either. No "D" optics for me. I love my Baja clone still. It works so well, have had zero issues, and looks sexy AF. not to mention the two color.

Got this cheap eBay 50" curved LED roof light bar with theses AWESOME mounting brackets made by MCM fab. All of the other brackets I found either looked like shit or didn't fit. These position it perfectly above your windshield (can't see it from inside and doesn't reflect on hood). 10/10 would recommend.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just ordered it to my friends house in TN. I will let you know how it goes when I get it. For that kind of money its worth seeing how it will work on the grill. It may end up on my buddies tractor if I don't get down there in time.
I ordered some of the ebay front grill mounts as suggested earlier in this thread. So depending on how it all works out it will be a $150 project from the relay to light (Bluefish fuse block, breaker and switches etc. are being installed regardless).

Nice write up, would you say those are more on the white color side vs bluish? I'm really looking for a good led bar that's closer to 45-4700k, my eyes can't handle the blue/white 6000k colorb

Idk, it's Probly about the same as most. Even my 10watt versions are like that. Some bars really are on the bluish side. Usually anything that uses cree. Especially epistars. Sometimes the optics play a part in that as well. The only ones I've seen to have actual ~4500k is Baja designs and vision x. I think Baja designs uses cree so the clones might be just the same. Not sure. Vision x clones are for sure not the same as they use cree instead of luminus.

Yep. CREE Leds in the clone bars.

You can find them on ebay by searching "white/amber single row led bar". All the clones are the same, but some have better/longer warranties. Just search around for the best deal in the size you want.

Oh I know the clones use cree. Just not sure if bd themselves use cree in theirs. Because Baja designs has one of the best 'natural' color temps around that 4500k color. So does vision x. Pretty sure the actual bd bars use cree as well. So it's gotta be something with the optics playing a part in the kelvin range.
Do you have any output shots of your clone? Don't remember if you posted any b4.. Curious now what the kelvin output is on the clone vs the real deal.
