How are you guys running the power cable for roof mounted light bars? Obviously some of the wiring has to get into the cab somewhere...

I drilled a hole into the water channel under the weather stripping, ran it down the door jam into the engine bay. Then from there if u need it in the cab to a toggle switch go through the firewall.. I'll post a pic when I get a chance, of that hole I drilled.

I used to have the cable tucked along the outside edge of the windshield, but now I drilled a hole through my factory XM antenna cover (Nissan) since there is a factory drilled and sealed 3/4" hole in the roof right under the cover :)

Was Amber. I had them for 6 months before I took them off so I could fit some covers on the lights. Still have the wiring harness yucked inside the fins on the LED bar so I can put them back up sometime..

This is the only decent pic I have, never really took pictures of them on.

That's a long exposure so they weren't actually that bright. They were about as bright as a normal amber side shine strip.

Fyi, we discussed this on page 66&67 too.
    Check it out;)
I think ima take mine off.. Not liking the quality of the them. Some leds are dim. And one end is coming unstuck a little. I may try to find some better quality strips, but can't find any that are super long like 42", the length of my bar, and of good quality, not eBay crap...
Anyone have any suggestions for a good roll I can purchase? In amber only of course..

I like it! You should do red and blue if you rewire them. Zombie response, right?

Sorry about that, bud. I tried to make sure it wasn't discussed yet but I was looking for the pictures to be quoted rather than just txt. Do you have a writeup on your rig? specifically the headlights? I did a retro with the very same housings but I swapped out the white LEDs in the bottom for orange and made them my turn indicators. I really like the double halos you have though! Makes a really cool effect!

Heh, no it's cool I just wanted u to see mine;)
And not really the right thread to discuss this topic but wth why not...
Yeah I still have yet to start working on my new retro with all new (same) housings and newer projectors. Had a lot of problems with them. I didn't really know exactly how to swap the leds but I actually was looking at the 5mm leds today for ideas on other applications. Just not sure how to wire them up yet but I'll research that. Not sure I want to change them. I kinda wanna remove them. I have crazy bright led eagle eye bolts I custom installed into the headlight filler panels. Waaaaaaay brighter than anything else I've seen so far for led turn signals. Was gonna see if I could fit them into that same holes where the 5mm's go but I don't think they will without drilling or hacking it up. I am afraid it'll turn out like shit. And those housings aren't cheap. I've bought 3 so far. 1 as halogen replacements, 1 for my current retro(when I discovered what a retro was:), and my new ones for a 2nd retro. Ha. Hoping this one goes without a hitch. Anyways there's this, but not much of a write-up. http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?50430-2001-Tacoma I thought ibwas a badass at the time. Lol. I was such a noob. Learned a lot since then and I'm confident as I really know what I'm doing this time. 1st times always like a 'trial' set just like everyone says. Ha.

But I may do a write-up for my new set whenever I get to it... Still thinking up exactly what I want to do, make changes this time around and whatnot.
Oh and I actually have tripple halos. I had white ones inside the shroud to shine through the port holes. But they kept burning up or something and I kept replacing them (under warranty). So I just unplugged them and said fuck it this time, NOT gonna split them a 4th time..

The ones I had were fine, but I did have 1 LED burn out where the silicone split. But you will be hard pressed to find Amber side shines from a good company. Fwiw my amber strips have been in my foot wells ever since and they have been hding strong!
Cannot, fully illegal :( But it's okay, orange is my color! And my zombie response lights are amber and white just how I like it :)

Yeah there's not much out there for side emitting.. I was trying to think of a way to use those 5mm's somehow. But I don't see how I could. Idk I don't really wanna put much time and effort into this.. oh well..
And I agree. Amber and white ftw!

Oh and on a side note, I got pulled over last night. While I was running my lights on a desolate road. Cop didn't care at all about my lights he said (funny cuz I had to've blinded him)... But yeah, I was speeding:rolleyes: He let me go tho:D

That would be cool, but until the SHTF I gotta keep it legal. It's illegal for me to even have them mounted to the car, even if they aren't on.

And I assume us police applicants will be under extra scrutiny :p
