this is my own quote that i sent to a "disgruntled" person that pm'd me about this.
"i have more important shit to spend 50 bucks on than a 13 cent light bulb that anyone can buy at radio shack. again, if your going to make a thread about everyones opinion on something, be prepared for the truth. apparently the truth pissed you off, sorry that it did? i admire the fact the this company is trying everything they can to make a product, and make a living from this product, however what i dont admire is making something for $14 bucks, and selling it at such an inflamed price and flare that you hide the fact that the person buying it is getting fucked, and for a few hours in one day, can accomplish something very very similar with less than half the price. if this pisses you off, i dont know what else to tell you...."

this actually made me laugh.

i work 12 hour graves, and any law enforcement officer will tell you that in this economy, with the lay-offs we have had, schedules are tough. the moment i get a gap in my schedule, i will show you what i can do, hell, i will even mark up my creation and sell it for like $75 bucks....

 

Oooh, a nerve has been struck... Well, I do respect your employment as a law enforcement officer and your opinion. However, you obviously have no idea what it really takes to develop a real product, put together a website, and maintain everything else invloved with running a business. You've obviously never purchased a mold in the U.S.A., have no idea how much professional grade software costs, or how much prototypes cost. It's clear, you assume our product is some crappy POS made in CHINA. I assure you, this is NOT the case. Additionally, I DO NOT make a living selling these LED lights. Far from it.

I work two jobs including FLYZEYE (where NO ONE has made a dime as of yet), served in the US Navy - some time doing MIO OPs working 20-hour days, worked in the Gulf of Mexico diving on the pipelines around the clock... I know what hard work is humping 50-lb bags of concrete, and how bad this economy is.

Sorry YOU feel $50.00 is crazy - once again - your opinion.

Still, I will look forward to buying your product (now at $75.00) Is the new price to cover your labor or hostility? Just asking. Again, when you can find time, please show us all what YOU come up with. Hell, I'll even buy one at $75. You do have a money back satisfactioin guarantee like we do, right? ...and I expect it will fit as perfectly as our unit does. Just checking, because I don't want to waste the money if I can buy one at Radio Shack for $14.00. If that's the case, I think I'll quit FLYZEYE and just do my day job and save everybody the grief of purchasing a QUALITY product from us. Perhaps, I'll wait until someone actually DOES put their money where their mouth is. Just to be safe. Talk is CHEAP!!! Reality, on the other hand, isn't.

dont judge me, how do you think i know what it would cost? You obviously dont know what molds i have used, or what professional grade software i have used, of how many prototypes ive sent off, ect. I never assumed your product was a crappy POS, or made in china, as a matter of fact, i never mentioned once, or spoke badly of the quality of your product, you, and multiple people have tried to put those words in my mouth. All that came from you, not me. There is a reason why i dont do this work anymore, and thats because charging too much for something so little was not something i will do to someone, wont do it, end of story. I do however will do work for my friends, and people who want work done or deserve it, but again, there is a reason why i dont do this type of work, same reason why i stepped down from it at my old job. Some of my best work i have ever done didnt come from molds, or super duper software, came from being creative, and using something as simple as fiberglass/epoxy, sandpaper and a dremel. Its funny that you truely believe i know nothing of the fabrication business, trust, i do, and i think its funny that your this pissed off over someone telling you that they wouldnt spend more than $15 dollars for your product.

As i said before, good for you for trying to "make it" with a product in this economy, and working 2 jobs. I admire that and with my schedule, could never do it. If my opinion makes you mad, then be mad, i dont care... thats your choice.

Think what you want, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but know this, there are 43 of us on shift at one time, and i recieve the most positive letters, comments and emails sent directly to my Lt. from the people i deal with because i tell it how it is, i dont sugar coat anything, and an honest person. Also know that hate dealing with the public.... hate it... but being upfront, honest, and informative with the person your helping, dealing with, or whatever, will get your the most respect.

To further show how i am, i left my fabrication job because the company i worked for was bought out by another company, and wanted to mark up my product by 45%. I refused this. I refused to be a part of a massive mark up, and i didnt believe our customers deserved it.

Again, if your mad over someone opinion, then be mad. Use your anger to prove me wrong, make a bigger, and better product thats here. Do it, i want you to, but to sit and be pissed off about it makes me laugh.

Thanks for continuing the tone destruction of this thread. I think I speak for most, when I say that your opinions should never have been posted in this particular thread to begin with but, no I'm NOT pissed it's called backing up what I believe in and standing behind our product(s).

So, back to my original point that you brought up: Still waiting on YOUR $15.00 product to come to market. Let's get this competition rolling.

Needless to say, your opinions of what we spend on Product Development and what our product should cost are your opinions (and you are entitled to have them). We gladly take all opinions. Assumptions of cost are a different matter all together. You don't know what we've spent, any more than I know what you've spent (or will spend). We, of all people, encourage anyone to develop new products - it's what America was built on - the entrepeneurial spirit - anyone can bring their dreams to market.

Competition makes everyone involved strive harder to make something better. Some sacrifice quality for profit... We do not and will not.

There are three types of jobs in this world, (and I'm quoting someone here), "Good, Quick, and Cheap. Pick two - you CAN'T have all three in the real world." or did I miss something in that little adage?

In closing, thanks for putting your life on the line to protect us. That much I can say with all sincerity. Police work is something to be respected.
