LED Lightbar Backlighting DIY

Like Mtopp said the adhesive that comes on the RGB strips are crap so i used the crap adhesive and some all weather silicone to hold it in place. Then used the silicone to seal where the wires poke through as well.

and my light bar strobes with the 24,000 Lumen lights and with the RGB strips too. Looks so dope in person.

And when you take the chrome inner pieces out, make sure you put them in the right way. I noticed on the original video MTopp posted, there were gaps in between each cluster of 4 led's (IDK if that could be due to the different brand of LED Bar he has). But i put them in wrong and noticed the gaps so i flipped them sideways and it closed up the gaps.

Yeah I think the cheaper lightbar caused the gaps. Did you just run the strips around the outside of metal? It looks much brighter than I thought it would be.

 

I got the basic remote that came in the RGB strips link on amaze you posted. It has a up and down speed button.

I still haven't figured out all the buttons yet (didn't come with instructions)

And I laid them the same way you put the first led strip in. On the boarder, with the LED strip facing the center of the Light Bar.

 

my lightbar is 38,400 lumens..

no strobe tho.. but oh well.. dont really want to strobe that big bastard and give people seizures. lol the strobe of the color LED will be enough..

i have wanted to add construction type strobes to my headlights and tail lights tho.. and sirens.. you know.. race truck style. lol

 

so for the top strip.. stuck to the underside of the inside of the housing correct? facing down.. and then the same for the other sides?

 

I want a siren that says "FUCK OUT DA WAY"

yeah, i'll post the strobe pattern up when i mount it. I don't want to spend like $200 on the mounts for my roof. i'm trying to find someone in the bay area to help me out!!

 

Moose1988 Yeah, i pretty much made a ring around the entire inside walls of the light bar all facing in. (top strip facing down, Bottom facing up, right facing left and left facing right) if that makes sense... haha

thinking i might get a siren/sound machine and run it into my amp for the PA.. and use that.. have something that plays recordings too. hell.. even an AUX for my phone and can play whatever i want then.. yup.. thats what im doing.. lol

Relentless fab.. im pleased with their roof mounts. no drilling necessary either.

also.. the quote button over on the bottom right allows you to do what im doing.. quoting your post and replying.. and the one to the right of that.. is the multi quote.. select it on whatever post you want to quote.. and it will quote all of them when you hit "post reply" on the bottom left.

Ahhh haaaaa Thanks Man!!

And yeah its behind the chrome faceplate. Keep in mind that its not one big plate. It's a bunch of small square chrome plates that have 4 lights for each square. (kind of a pain in the ass)

I would recommend having a friend or two help you out if its a big light bar.

got ya.. Interesting it lights up so much being behind it.. guess i havent really taken a serious look at mine yet.. im assuming theres just enough gap that it shines through..

Yes, I'm surprised its that bright. Maybe the cree LEDs are smaller than the epistar ones in my bar so it allows more light through and the optics are different also.

Yeah.. seems to be a few different variables that could cause it.
