It was not my intent to find misleading vendors. I just wanted to find the best possible lights, so I bought every SAE-J583 fog pod, including some advertised as far better than Rigid based on specs, and costing more too. For some of these I was really looking forward to their performance as I was planning on mounting the best ones on my truck in the lower valence. It was super disappointing to have multiple pods fail to come close to their power draw specs and have the resulting output equally suffer. Im not sure if I should go back to these vendors and question their product/advertising or not, because I certainly feel ripped off.

I think these are brands that most are unfamiliar with and certainly not something you would see with major name brands, but yesterday someone did ask me a very eerily timed pointed question about one of these brands specifically based on seeing the product box in another post. I was able to show them the beam pattern comparison, measured output comparison and current draw comparison to quantitatively show they can get an identically performing product for 1/3 the cost. They are no longer planning on buying that brand.

So with reading so many people talk about led light I have found it hard to find a good vanity light now I have. Go to VLEDS and search VANITY SUN VISOR MIRROR 6 LED LIGHT BULB. There you go still am not sure of it’s size there are so many people giving different sizes and the first one I ordered fell out every time I hit a bumb I knew there had to be something better. Check them out.

I put a cheap set of interior led bulbs in mine when I bought it. The vanity lights are bright as crap and never had an issue with them.

Do you remember how long the festoon bulbs are in that location?

Been a couple of years but I will look for the ad I purchased from on ebay. Maybe that will help. I have since converted most others to mesojdm fixtures but the vanity led bulbs are still there.
Here is the kit I bought feb 2016 for $11. Maybe you can ask the seller what bulbs are included for the vanity lights.

what’s the general consensus on the best LEDs for the low beams? is it the one from the link on the first post of this thread?

is there ones out there that matches the rigid fog lights that come on the 17’ TRD PRO?

The first post is waaaaaaaaaaay outdated and the OP hasn't been back in some time.

Right now, a lot of people have been getting the best bang for the buck with some of the newer Hikari's:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077BT6M6Z
They aren't super cheap, but they are MUCH better than the cheaper ones you find...but they are also not the best out there either (such as VLED micros, Diode Dynamics, etc).

We are waiting for crashnburn80 to do a formal test with them to see how they compare to others (to include OEM halogen LBs), but that may not be for a little while since he's doing a big review on fog lights right now. He is really testing to see how close they can compare to the manufacturer's advertised light readings in stock housings...but I think we'll all benefit from his findings.

@xGRIMEYx I second that, around page 58 and up is where you should start to read and you’ll see pictures and reviews of everyone who popped those Hikari Phillips drew linked you in the previous post. No body has complained, in fact everyone has been beyond pleased. They’re still a great price considering there are no extras needed (harnesses, ballasts, terminals, fuses etc) that you would need with an HID conversion, these are purely plug n play.

H11 covers your high beams too, but this brand may be too bright for your fogs, id go with the auxbeam f-16 for your fogs, fogs are H9 type.

Don't look at the 12000lm rating. Majority of these are not correct because they are raw numbers of the all the LEDs on both bulbs totaled together...not the actual light output from a headlight of any type.

Do you have your lows and high on at the same time? If so, how are you doing this?

Our 3rd Gens are naturally setup to do this. It's why Toyota also setup the fog lights to turn off when you have the HBs on.

... Perhaps I am missing something, but I thought the lows turn off when highs come on...

Your lows and highs should come on at the same time, but your fogs will turn off I believe.

Ya, I know the fogs do (which I hate) but I guess I had not real noticed. Now I am curious.

I'm 99.9% sure that your lows stay on when your highs do. I think it has to do with some state laws saying there can't be more than 4 forward light sources on at all times. So for us, the fogs turn off.

If you have a car with bi-xenon lights, the fogs can stay on because there's only 1 bulb that's used for lows and highs.

I agree, in the 3rd gens, the lows and highs are on at the same time for sure.
