Has anyone successfully swapped their REAR TURN signals to LEDs with resistors? If so, which bulbs and where did you purchase them from? I'm debating between superbrightleds or diodedynamics

Yes. I have the DiodeDynamics LEDs in all four of my rear lights (2 were for brakes and 2 were for the turn signals). I got the middle options (the HP11) which are brighter than stock and are of great quality. You can add on their resistor kit too during checkout. I forget if 5 ohms works when you are simply swapping out the rear turn signals tho (my rear light's are modified beyond the stock function).

I didn't have good experience with the quality of superbrightleds in the past...but that was back when LED's in automotive lighting wasn't the norm. So I can't comment on their stuff now.

Exactly the answer I was looking for! Thank you. For the rear turn signals, did you go with red or amber?

Go with red for sure!! For shi-giggles, I had some older yellow LEDs (from my 2nd gen) that I tried out first and the yellow looked horrible behind the red lenses. The color looked like a sickly pink.

The red on red really pops. Of course it helped that the new LEDs were much brighter too. :D

    I replaced my:
    Optix H11 (H8, H9, H16) LED Headlight Conversion Kit - Low Beam / High Beam Bulbs - 80W 8000LM High Power - 6000K 6K White with the Hikari’s(12,000 lumen)both hi and low.
    Definetly brighter, especially throw.
Also did the front turn signals, JDM Astar, easily twice as bright as stock. Thanks Rob!

Did your signals hyper flash when you installed the bulbs? Some reported no issue and didn't have to use a resistor.

Front turn signals no hyper-flash. Other than brightness, it’s the main reason I got these, no hyper-flash, and no resistor required. I’ll leave the rear stock until a no hyper-flash, LED comes out.

I installed the Phillips 30mm LED dome light with out a hitch. It did not take a sledge hammer to make it fit.
The only ID on the package was....Festoon 30mm-LED.
You should try a 30mm bulb before you try to force a 31mm in.

Original post for the backup/reverse lights are no longer offered. Is there a good replacement? Update to original post?

Has there been a better alternative for the map light found?

Also, what is the difference between the bulbs in the lights above the rear seat and the on off toggle-able ones between the front seats? I assume front seats are map, and rear are dome?

This is what I recommend for the Map and Dome lights.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/custom-led-map-and-dome-lights.521923/

The Red Ultimate Dome is available but the Maps are sold out at the time. Subscribe to that thread and get your paypal ready.

You don't have to get red but if you wanted to know what it looked like

That red is just too much, honestly.

Yea, not for everyone. The Ultimate Dome comes in White or Red. White you need sunglasses. The maps come in White, Smoked or Red. A lot of guys run red up front and white in the back or smoked up front and white in the back.

I am the Devil so Red is my color of choice.

Yea, watch that thread then, you will not be disappointed with anything @mesojdm makes/sells. A lot of guys really dig those smoked maps. They are neither too bright or red. A real happy medium. He has pics posted on those first page how they look. If you bought the Hikari license plate bulbs I used, and shown below, at the bottom of the page, they work in our map lights.

Basically, any T10 bulb will work in the map light socket.
