Thanks, In this case it seems guy installed cheap LEDs that had polarity. Fuse blew and caused other electrical issues.

If you get quality LEDs like Diode Dynamics etc they have over current, over voltage, polarity protection with built-in resistors. Like shown here:

I read that the guy needed a new ecu, another needed just a fuse, and then the guy who got his led headlights that fried his truck. just seamed like the lights are tied into the ecu to where if they malfunction it can kill the truck. but can't verify their story and I'm not an electrician so don't know

I see what ur saying but did u also read that guy with led headlights fried his ECU, sprays his engine bay with water on regular basis. Not everything in the engine is water resistant.

Haha ya. I have hid in my headlights and don't plan on washing the ballasts any time soon. it's probably fine seeing how many people have them in and have no problems. I have cheap ones in my interior and haven't had any problems

    Hi folks,

Do any of these LED bulbs (particularly the headlight LEDs) cause the lamps out indicator to display on the dash?

Anyone install the opt7 FluxBeam X LED headlights (suppposedly an updated model)? Install issues with bulb clearance?

    Thanks

Led headlights do not trigger lamp out indicator. I have Morimoto 2Stroke.

    Hello everyone,

I just found the led light for the dome light and the length is 29 MM, this should fit better in the light housing than 31 MM. Mine is on order along with two number 194 lights for the map lights, and this from VLEDS and they are having a special 15 percent off, the code is SCARE15.

I just installed OPT-7 Fluxbeams for my low beams and the LED Fog lamp bulbs. I had to remove the 2 top srews holding the headlight in and pull them forward a bit to get the bulb/fan to fit in the housing. They are solid once installed. No isssues with dash lights or anything.

Anyone try these? I read somewhere on here someone tried these and said they worked great and easy plug and play install.

I was looking in the engine bay the other day and figured there might be clearence problems for the low beam LED bulbs.

What about the ballasts that come with the bulbs? Find a good spot to put them?

I zip tied them along with the stock wiring harness. Looks pretty clean.

I've been using Diode Dynamics HID kits in current 4Runner (and past 4Runner) and current 2017 Tacoma.

The ballast is using the 3M double pad included in the kit and it's not going to move without force. The driver side is similarly setup and is hidden behind the panel.

I also have their LED fogs in matching 6K color as the HID's. The HIDs have a great cut off and zero glare. With the factory rake it does not blind on coming traffic and has zero blue color in the light. Not sure why Toyota but very nice LED DRL's and then ugly yellow halogen LB lights and fogs. Plus the fact (IMO...) the light output is pretty poor on the factory LB.

The kit I used is here: http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...oma-low-beam-hid-conversion-kit/category/476/

I also used their relay harness (heavy duty and waterproof. Very nicely made relay with power/ground/signal adapters).

I also used their LED's for all interior, reverse and license location. The reverse XP50's are great (pricey...but the output is great). Have them in the T4R for over 2 years now.

Took a at look at DD's website, good write up. Seems they take pride in their product. What made you go with 6k rather than the 4,3k color temp? Not too blue?

Wondering if HIDs are a better product than LEDs for light output and clarity.

I had LED's on my T4R before I switched to the DD HIDs. Looked great but didn't have the output I was looking for (could have been the brand). Although they had a nice white color they didn't have the power as the HID's. The brand I had actually had less output than the OEM halogen bulbs. Actually had to use HB's nearly all the time to see the roads where I live.

I went with 6K color because I was very satisfied with the output and color from my two other T4R's that had them (still have the 2014 with 2 years use). Figure I found something I liked and they have been issue free... may as well stick with them.

No blue hints. Even on the 2014 with 2 years use they haven't changed color from the day I installed them. I'll try and remember to get a pic at night and post.

DD isn't the cheapest, but I'm very satisfied with their customer service and products.

Hey Guys, I've searched through a few forums but still uncertain of what to use to high beams. I'm using the Morimoto 2Stroke LED's for the low beams and I got the Morimoto Type XB LED Projector Fog Lights. Any suggestions for a conservative high beam item that will be close to the color of the low beams? Thanks.

I have these in there now: http://www.xenondepot.com/H9-Xtreme-LED-kit-p/xt-led-h9.htm

This is my third set (previous 2 were on T4R's like the DD low beams). DD doesn't have these and like my experience with DD...I've been very pleased with the quality of xenon depot LED high beams (that's the only product I have of theirs). I like sticking with things that I have experience with, enjoy and cause me zero grief.

Light output is great. Really lights up the dark roads where I live. It's not a rigid LED light bar...but way better than the yellow OEM high beam bulbs.

    Updated with pics

Diode Dynamics HID 6K kit by my hunting hangout. As I stated earlier they have a great cut off.

    11il2r4_3fc0167692959545e5ef36293f345286af2e163b.jpg

Now with Xenon Depot LED HB. They light up the area...again not like an LED light bar, but way better than stock.

Looks awesome, not at all what I was thinking. Somestimes with HIDs at the 6k color temp, it's a hit or miss. Some companies don't proplerly advertise the color and the light output ends up being a dark blue.

I think you sold me on these.

    Bow,

Do the bulbs move (shake) in the housing when going over bumps?
