    this is correct. I have multiple switches installed and when wired the way you did its always power to the bulb in the switch. higher end switches will give you both wiring diagrams (light always / light on only when switch is on).

    what happens if you just let the light illuminate even while the car is off. I assume it isn't enough power to kill the battery right? I connected both reds from the switch, it sounds like I need to separate them right? sorry, when it comes to all this wiring lingo, I am lost.

    Try to swap green and red wire from switch.

    Eaither under or top of the relay, there should be number indicated on each terminal.

    Green -> 30
    Red 1 -> 85
    Red 2 -> Option 1. You can also hook it to 85
    (both letters and icon of switch illuminate when switch is on position)
    Option 2. tap into source of oem switch illuminating
    (this is what I did so letters illiminate when other factory switch illuminate & icon of switch illuminates when the switch in on)
    Option 3. leave it as not connected
    Black -> ground

    My ditch light switch used to do that and then I installed the cali-raised lower grill bar and followed the steps for the wiring from that video and went back and realized I had wired the ditch lights different. Made the corrections to the ditch lights and now both work properly!

    Around 10 min mark is the wiring section.

    Wire colors of relay may differ as other brands/seller used different colors of wires. This video will be very helpful for people who buy exact same relay tho.
