I want to use LED's for my DRL, turn and marker on the front of my '12 Tacoma. There is talk that if you use the switch back (white/yellow) bulbs you have to cut the wire under the dash to disable the DRL or you will blow fuses. If I installed non switch back LED could I run these without issue? Basically looking for a brighter LED DRL without the heat of the 3157 bulbs.

Yes you can, you'll need load resistors to prevent fast blink. I ran em for the same reason and will again once i get new resistors.

Which ones did you buy? Also if you already have the LED factory tail lights do you still need the load resistors?

    Thks

The link refers to switch back LED in amber/white which requires disabling the DRL. I'm just looking for amber LED'S that work the same as the incandescent bulbs.

I have white/Amber ones and Amber only ones. Neither will pop fuses and whoever told you to disable Dtrls so they don't blow fuses means they were trying to sell you something not wired correctly for your truck.

Ive read a few threads on here that if you run the DRLs with the LED CK3157 it will blow fuses unless you disable your DRL buy cutting a wire under the dash that enables the DRL. So what amber/white bulbs are you running with your DRLS's that don't give you an issue?

Amber only a bulbs and resisters. White/ambers u keep Dtrls they are just pull power elsewhere on the white/ambers. That's what the mod does. That is why I don't like the directions out and about because someone will say something and it isn't true.

Why white/ambers Unmodded work too, just a little different. These are all my own bulbs and yes none of these will give you that issue at all.

Pm me if interested in any of these options and I'll send you a quite and explain further.

I have a question for you gentlemen. Couple years ago I installed the switchback DTRL'S on my truck from csjumper2003. They still work great... but I noticed a year or so ago... they are always on now no matter what. What would have caused this? They didn't when I initially installed them.

If you did the mod then they have always been like that. You might not of noticed though. Anyways send me a pm and I can show you how you can turn them off if you want. But unless you installed them without the mod and did the mod later they had to be on all the time. That is how the mod works.
