Maybe this thread has been posted before but whatever, I am sure many people are doing LED light installs daily. Anyhow. I am looking at LED PODS, BARS, AND HEADLIGHTS. The companies I have looked as are Auxbeam, Cali Raised, and Rigid.

I like Auxbeam due to the great pricing and the torture test videos on Youtube. However, I've seen a comparison between them and Rigid and it looks like the finish on the Auxbeams will dull and the lens will yellow. The price is awesome though! The Cali Raised LED lights looks amazing as well. Cali Raised also does torture tests and what not. What I don't like, maybe I sound like a asshole when I say this, I feel uncomfortable with buying something from a company that has Justin Bieber showing me light installs and reviews of the lights.... Again, I might sound like a prick but whatever. Rigid lights are pretty much overpriced in my opinion.... I guess you pay for what you get though...

Anyhow. I haven't seen any solid comparisons between companies. It seems that Youtube shows nothing but name brand companies comparing its lights vs. a Chinese company...

Post up your LEDS!!! With feedback and photos!

Well. As said. I've been trying to look at the different brands. I am asking for people's opinions or reviews of their setups..

Well the one video of a guy, well the only video I could find of 2 brands was one with a auxbeam and one rigid. The rigid was powder coated and the cleAR lens didn't yellow. Auxbeam I guess is painted so it will fade over time and the lens yellowed. Auxbeam are a fraction of what rigid costs. I believe however rigid come with a wiring harness. I am asking for setups and opinions on brands people have chosen.

    Sorry, I was being facetious.

It was a quip on the irony of something being overpriced when you get what you pay for.

Just a theory, but if you get what you pay for, the price is equal to the value you place on the features and benefits.

But if people are having awesome experiences with light's a quarter of the price, that's what I am looking for.

Well so far we've covered a lot of ground.

    1. Auxbeam's pricing is great but the lenses dull over time.
    2. Rigids are overpriced, but you get what you pay for.
    3. Cali Raised is bad because of Justin Bieber.

I think we can skip all of the small talk and get right into KO2's and Monster Energy Drinks.

    Well-
I'll be on an island saying this.
Toyota chose Rigid, so will I.

Rigid was one of the original manufacturers of light pods and bars. They're designed and manufactured in the USA. They're made to a high quality standard.

Most others are Chinese knock offs, made to a lesser standard.
In today's economic climate, these things matter to me.
Sure, they may cost more, I can accept that.

I have auxbeam pod as ditch lights.
The black will fade. The lense on mine has not yellowed but i also run amber covers.
I got two aux beam pods and it came with full harness all for $20
So no big loss to replace them.

I run flush mounted xenlights in rear bumper.
So far they work great. Again $20-30
Then I got benson lights as cube light fogs.
$20 &They have held up great.

My 32" and 52" are just cheapo generic

I have no experience with cali raised or rigid.
    I doubt I ever will.

Honestly, ive had good luck with the cheap and dirty chinese stuff. I think of you have them behind your grill the chances of getting moisture in them is reduced (it also helps if you spray a layer of clear enamel on the body to help seal it up).

My brother spent about $1,000 with rigid on the front of his STI, it was pretty amazing for only being 2 smallish bars (i think a 10 and a 12 inch) ...but...hard for most people to justify. I spent about $200 total on all of my no name lights and the output is comparable IMO.

I'll have 40W cubes ($100 for the pair) and 30 inch single rows ($150) available in a few weeks, made by Aurora. About 1/2 the Amazon prices.
They have their torture test on youtube as well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_azdQB3N_yc

In the video, you see the cube on the front of the FJ after the car wash. It was still on, it had just folded forward because it wasn't tightened enough. Not broken.

    42"
    20"
    Pair 8"
All vision x evo prime clones.
    All for around $600 iirc.
No issues except paint finish isn't the greatest.

I'm looking for a pod that can rotate.
My plan is to mount 4 of them to a roof basket, on the corners. I want something that has 90 degree coverage so that when they're all on, there is coverage around the whole truck

Motorized, steerable pods would be awesome.

Well, any pod can be 'angled'/ rotated however you want. They're not fixed. I would suggest something with flood/diffused lenses.

    Maybe these:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/322365721850

Low profile. Really wide and even spread of light with the diffused lenses. They also have 4 led pods, but those would be even bigger and bulkier. I think theyd be great on your basket. Maybe even 6 of em. 1 for each corner, and one on the sides. Heck, one more for the back too! Ha. But 4 would probly be enough. This is what I plan to do if I ever get a roof setup like that. I will be getting some of those I listed though. Doing dual pods on each a pillar.

Dang, I like those. Especially the low profile, elongated design. Those'll fit nicely. Do you know if that they rotate where that mounting screw is?

It's like daylight out... holy shit.

OP, I have Cali Raised pods and their 20" behind my grille. I was gonna pick up their OEM fog replacements but I'm hopefully getting a bumper and that'd just be a waste. I will likely run Cali Raised though in the bumper, and plan on getting reverse lights and a reverse amber from them as well. So far they've held up great. They're much cheaper than Rigid or any of those other name brands. I won't ever buy those expensive ones because that's money that can be put to more steel.
