    A few.
Those are a nice setup. One thing Im wondering, I live in PA and we have annual vehicle State INspection. And I was wondering if those tails would cause an issue with that since the back up lenses are used for the turn signals.

That's a great question... I'm just speculating here. But, as PA does their inspections, would they know/not know how the turn signal and reverse lights should be. As @MESO stage 1 is designed, if anything, it's way better for rear traffic and the only huge difference is the switchback LED for reverse and rear blinker. Maybe PA inspections know how each component is supposed to work from factory? If that changes and functions better than OEM is that something that would cause a failed inspection even if all components are working?

Thanks to my fellow TWers for helping me spend some more money! Stage 1 kit ordered and I already have a tracking number.

I would like to politely disagree with this claim. An LEDs expected lifespan is longer than any halogen bulb, end of story.

You can also cut into the meso harness to add the wires for a topper 3rd brake light. I added this plug, that then goes to a flush SAE plug in my bed for a 3rd brake light.

You guys that know how to do all this electrical work; splicing wires, cutting into harnesses, amaze me. It's all mystical magic to me. I hit the brake, lights come on, magic.

Sounds like the 5 stages of grief.
Stage 0 - Denial (They can't be sold out!)
Stage 1 - Anger (It was in my cart!?#)
    Stage 2 - Depression (Why... Can't I get one...)
Stage 3 - Bargaining (Kidneys for sale)
    Stage 4 - Acceptance (Soon™)

    Sorry early morning moments

Yes. In stock, free shipping. I have a tracking number, but the package isn't actually in the hands of the USPS yet. Which is pretty much what everyone is doing these days.

I think that Stage 1 will be fine for my purposes. It's disappointing that Toyota doesn't put LED taillights on all trim levels.

Harking back to the 1980s, Toyota was able to make a lot of money on relatively inexpensive cars because unlike the US manufacturers they made one harness and just left out the stuff that wasn't being put into that trim level. Which made it easy to do upgrades if you were able to find the parts. Since my family owned an auto salvage, I was able to due some interesting upgrades. ;)

I actually prefer having halogen bulbs stock and upgrading myself. If you have OEM led lights and a bulb burns out, you cant just replace the bulb, you generally have to replace the whole tail light assembly. Same goes if you get a cracked tail light, having to buy a whole new one doesnt change if you have halogen or led, but the price between the 2 can be pretty big.

The Meso Stage 1 kit arrived in the mail and of course I couldn't wait until I got back from my road trip to install it. That was my plan, but one thing lead to another and before I knew it I had the taillight housings out and installed the kit.

It' very impressive, but I ran into two problems.

    1) As someone else noted when I put the truck in reverse and turn on the directional, the directionals huyperflash. Is there a solution for this? I know it's pretty rare to back up and put on directionals, but if there's a fix, I'd like to do it.

    2) As you can see from the attached picture one of the wires pulled out of the connector. The upper brake light on that side stopped working. I removed the yellow gasket(?) or whatever it's called, ran that back over the wire, put the wire in the socket and everything is working. I don't know how long that will stay put and if someone can tell me where I can get the connector and how to remove the old one, I'd appreciate it.

I suppose I should email Tacomabeast about that, but if someone here knows the answer that would be nice.

I'm very happy with the results, this is a nice upgrade to the Tacomas without LED talilights.
