The turn signal is a completely separate bulb from the reverse bulb. At least in my 2020 it was. There are three bulbs. The top two act as your brake lights, either the middle or the top one (I don’t remember) is your turn signal, and the bottom one of the reverse.

My 18 did not need resistors. Plug and play from Tacoma Beast and their product.

Saying that, I have only LEDs associated with the Stage 1 upgrade. No other LED bulbs in the circuit.

I have a 2021 Tacoma. I just installed Zevo 7443r on my 2021 tacoma tail lights, I thought I needed a resistor at first. After installing the leds I had the hyperflash only on left turn signal, not right. I tested it with vehicle off at first, after turning vehicle on I had no hyperflash. I turned vehicle off again, tested left turn signal, no hyperflash! Thought this might help some folks out since most are testing it with the vehicle off.

I have a Jeep jku. Added let's. Recently the left rear taillight is hyper flashing. I am sure the load resistor went bad. Ordered a pack of 4 from Amazon. Spiced the new one in and it works fine again. Sorry I have a Jeep lol. But I don't think the type of vehicle matters much.

This makes sense and mine are doing the same thing. All rear bulbs are LED, but intermittently hyper flash. Rather than mess with wiring up a resistor I think I'll look for better bulbs first. Thanks for the info.

I have intermittent driver-side hyperflash with @MESO Total Tail Stage 1 LEDs with Meso resistors installed on both sides. Headlights on or off don't make a difference. I have no other LED replacements in the truck.

Lots of stuff coming that my wife doesn't know about yet.
Found this thread, and found something interesting. I'm getting fast flashing as well, but only when my headlights are on. Daytime, all LED's work perfectly fine (I have factory LED up front, replaced the tails with 7440/7443 Auxitos from Amazon), but when the headlights/taillights are on, boom - fast flashing.
