Finally I see someone does it. It's so professional for factory like looking.

I was looking into something like that for adding Phillips or Osram DRL (They are DOT and SAE legal) to my truck (95). Did you cut inserts or you just removed them altogether? I don't remember it (I've removed grill so many times but old age...) how much space (how deep) is behind inserts?

I will be waiting impatiently for updates .

My brother gave me a dremmel kit and I used it to cut the grille and its just plastic and once you get threw the plastic then your good with space. It only took me about an hour to cut both sides out. I used anzo smoke black day light runners. I kept the buttom piece of plastic for support and screwed the screw into that piece. It was an easy install. It looks sloppy right up close but im gonna cut the metal piece to fit the lights to cover up the junk. I will probably do that tonight. I will keep posted

There is a clip holding original fillers (metal plates under the headlights). When cutting the grille did you cut the filler mounts too, or they do not interfere with Anzo lamps?

I'd love to see closeup (with lamps off) how it fits under the headlight. Can you take a picture of the anzo lamps glass - I wonder if there are any DOT or E certifications engraved on the lenses. There is so little information about these lights.

I will take a picture of it tomorow. The lights are legal only during daylight and headlights have to be off.

Do they have DOT or E numbers engraved? How are they connected? Are they ON all the time when ignition is on or do they go off after headlights are on?

I'm asking because I'm looking for DRL legal in Europe which are:
    - must have E number and RL engraved (meaning they are certified)
    - must be on as soon as engine starts or ignition is on
    - must turn off when marker/position lights are on.
    - must be off when headlights are on

There are Osram and Philips kits that do that but most them don't take input from ignition (for turning on) but use Voltage level on battery (quite stupid solution). I had DRL/FOG kit from Osram for my 4Runner, and that works like a charm. But mechanically will not fit 95 Taco.

Idk about that. Ive been painting my truck will be done drying by tomorrow. I will take a picture of it close up. And no they do not turn off when headlights come on. But it came with a swith that just mounts to the cigarette lighter hole which worked perfect for mine because my cigarette lighter hole wasnt working. But I believe its made to wire up so they do shut off when the headlight come on. I will let you know tomorrow I still have the instructions for it. I just dod the airing the quick way because i needed to paint my truck and that is a much larger project right now

If you can take the picture of wiring instruction page, that would be great. I see on the product picture three wires going from the lamp, and I'm curious how they supposed to be used.

I've considered adding LEDs in the same location; following your post for more detailed install pics!

The similar led bulbs I had in 4Runner as a rear fog lights (now still connected to "trailer blinkers" so they work as red blinkers and atop lights).

But these kind of bulbs are not legal as DRL (lack of required certification). And from my experience all these wires (a pair per bulb) is PITA to connect and protect from the environment.

I'm still waiting for OP pictures :ballchain:

Hey sorry guys. I was supposed to lost those pictures a week ago. I just got very sick last week. And today I started cutting out the fillers. There the hardest part. Now since i can actually get up and work on finishing this project I will get some pictures in the morning. I ordered new halo headlights so i will post some more of the backside of the grille where its cut out when I install the halos next week.

The ziptie might be replaced with a bolt. The filler might act as the anchor though when i get them put back in

Yeah and also it just gave me the instructions that it shows on the product box. I knew a little about the wiring ive had interior light to all sorts of things so i didnt use the instructions. But i believe the one wire is for the positive, one for the ground and another to attach to the headlights so when the headlights come one the leds go off. You will need extra wires because the ones for it are to short.

I'm taking this truck to Europe and it will not pass the safety inspection if DRL are not marked on lenses with proper certification. I think I will take OSRAM LEDDRL401 - cost more but they have that certifications marked on lenses.

I really wanted DRL as all cars must have either headlights or DRL turned on at day time (like Canada). LED DRL would save live of halogen H4 bulb in my headlights (putting H4 LED into headlight housing will not work as it will not create the correct cut-off, and therefore will not pass safety inspection).:frusty:

Well if you find some lights that are similar in size in height, and to be honest if you got longer ones that cover the complete filler gap then it would be a lot easier to install and look better. I wish i would of went with longer lights now. The fillers are cer hard to cut out so if you just went the longer route you could probably just put the ends of the fillers in. You would need someinthing to hold it though like emblem glue or something. Just an idea. The filler is the hardest part. If you have a dremel kit then its easier to custom cut the grille. Do you want me to post a picture of the bit i used? I dont know what kind it is but it work great on the plastic
