Not horrible. Last quote I got from Leer was 2698 for 100R and 2898 for 100XR. That included front fold down window and no carpet liner.
I believe install was 120 also. That was back in spring.
Told myself i'd find a used one and can't find a silver shortbed for the life of me.
Ordered a softopper and sent it right back. Wish I had just ordered a Leer back then.

If it's in stock that means somebody most likely cancelled there order and they made a few bucks from that person. so I would try to negotiate a little.

For me a cap on my truck is a must. It's just something that I factor into my budget when I buy a truck. I have a hard time wrapping my head around what they cost anymore. I paid $900 for the one on my 2007 Tacoma and $1500 for the one on my 2014 F-150. From what I'm seeing that is about the going price. Not a deal, but you can have it now and not have to wait.

I mean at that price point it starts to near RSI Smartcap and GFC which may be better; for one they’re lighter and aluminum
And RSI has integrated roof load bearing surface
Versus a heavy fiberglass camper (harder to install) potentially has to be a reinforced model, tracks installed, $1000 Sherpa topper rack, just to carry things

with the above caps also findable used, they hold their value if you get and sell
Potentially easier to one man remove and store
Or, what might be better and similar to the above benefits, an aluminum contractor cap painted white

$3k (not sure why they put “2995” to make it sound cheaper) for what looks used
Seems higher than anything I’ve seen in classifieds and more of “new” price
Which at that point, regarding new pricing
You can potentially simply order new
With every exact spec you desire

If you don’t need stealth camp with air vent (I’d be curious if soft top can be modified to work that way) you can always get a softopper and possibly exo rack for now. That’ll hold gear, bed space, light, utility, cheaper, and resellable.

That’s likely a new camper, not a used one. I spoke with one of the owners of Uresti the other day. They do more Tacomas than any other truck and almost always it’s a Leer 100 shortbed. So they keep one in each of the most popular colors in stock and order a new one as soon as one sells.
For what it’s worth, Texas Hitch and Truck Center in South Austin beat Uresti’s price by nearly $400 on a new 180 with all the options I wanted.

I got to stop reading about these used camper deals people are finding. I had a lead on a 180 for a really great price but it sold before I could get to it. I spent the next couple weeks scouring ads from up to 500 miles away, but not finding what I need. I don’t wanna miss out on the upcoming camping season when the weather cools off so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a new one. I’ve still been looking at the used ads a little bit just out of habit, but I gotta stop because I’m gonna be pissed when I find a 180 near me for half of what I paid. Glad you found a good deal though. There’s some out there if your patient.
