Leer 100R roof rack install?

    The biggest downside is not being able to adjust the bars. The leer on my 1st gen had the crossbars directly mounted to the shell, but they were at the very ends of the shell which made it nearly impossible to mount anything up there (ie bike rack, basket, cargo box... etc). The other benifit of track mounting versus direct mounting is being able to quickly and easily remove the bars- usually no tools required.

    Plus weight distribution. You're helping spread the load across the length of the track vs a couple bolt holes.

    What did the bases look like before attaching them? One bolt through the roof? Thinking on doing racks in this same manner. Thanks
