I know that mine is rougher under the lip buy my cap is white like my truck, it's not noticeable. I just got home a while ago, I'll post the pics that I took.

Sunkool in Springhill. They're working on it for me. Just figured I'd get some thoughts on the forum.

    OK, here are the pics

Picture #1 is how I protect my paint from the cap door, heavy rubber tape, looks like I need to trim it a bit. I'm not sure where this tape came from, my father gave it to me. It looks like plain old 2" electrical tape. It was on my 06 for about 5 years and never had to be replaced. If you look close, you can even see where the door hits the tape.

Picture #2 is they gap between the top of the tailgate protector and the cap:

We'll see what Leer suggests. I'm a little hesitant to have them grind material off for fear that the paint will chip in those areas down the road.

Much appreciated hotrod. Looks like you have a decent gap there.

Thank you Sig45. That makes me feel better about the exposed edge.

Yes, plenty of room. I can however tell you that they did grind a bit from the front downward skirt curve when I got my 100r on my 06. Make sure that the cap fits on the bedrails properly and DOES NOT force the bedrails down, that's where they ground a little out for me. If it does, it will wear through your paint under the bedrails around the edge. Just to give a better example, if you slide the cap off center left to right, the skirted part will force the black bedrails inward and will wear through the paint. If installed centered, the bedrails stay up and off of the paint.
