Leer 100XQ pricing.....wtf??

Tilt out from the bottom? Hinges on top and inside? I have to admit I don't know anything about the XQ. It just didn't look like it had any real utility to me when I was looking at a topper. Also I was never looking at a cab-height topper to begin with.

 

I'm waitin' for confirmation but I believe:
Secured NOT hinged at front, bend full length to pop out at back.
Similar to mine but no hinge in the window or at the point of attachment

Yeah, I see that 100XL in the brochure and your pics and it has the quarter windows. But I'm kind of old school like skidooman, I like the slider windoors. I carry the heaviest items in the front of the bed, the coolers especially, they tend to be the heaviest items but needed for easy access.

 

My only gripe is being a short bed, the windows are of course much smaller, so they dont open very much because of the latches to keep the windows secured down. As you can see there isnt much room to slide for ventilation. Which brings me back to my original Tacoma gripe. 4DOOR LONGBED+TRD OFF ROAD!!!!

 

Yep, but even without a cap, I try to load everything thru the tail to keep the sides of the truck unscratched, from belt buckles, snaps, mishandled items, etc.
But I know what ur sayin'

Yeah, Toyota kind of short-changed people that wanted the premium double cab. I wasn't in that class, but I understand. Sort of like I wanted a bench seat in my 2012, but no, I had no option but the buckets. Irritates me no end, but I had to get the Taco.

Ima hearin' ya. That Sucks.
I put on the AVID Hitch Step which gets me well into the bed without opening the tailgate.
Also took a 5'+/- (1.5m) piece of 3/4" (1.905cm) PVC with a long factory coupling and stuff a 90° PVC Sweep in it with no glue.
I can stand with the gate open and catch and drag cords, plastic drill cases, small to medium boxes,etc, from the front to the back with little effort.
Maybe up to 20lbs+/- (Oh yeah, that would be 9.071847kg+/- in your language) .
That's also on a OEM Bed Mat.
Obviously, if the bed's full, it's useless. But it's lightweight and takes up no space.
Also thinkin' of getting the front end 3M Protection Film for my tailgate, as I'm seein' small scratched

Yeah I'd kill the sides of the truck too.

That XL looks good too. I may have to price one of those bad boys out too. I liked the Thule racks on the XQ to carry canoes, etc. I am assuming it's available with the XL?

 

I'm looking at the Leer brochure right now and it says the XL can be optioned with all the Thule options. The only options the XL DOESN'T have is the windoors or slider windoors, or sliders period. And a couple of door options only available on the 100R, 180, and 122.

 

When I priced at my Leer dealer last week, the base XL was exactly $200 less than the base XQ.

 

Was that with all the options??

If you are planning on any significant weight on the roof racks , I would suggest you consider the Leer 100RCC , the commercial version of the 100R , the roof is reinforced and the commercial rack is rated for 450 lbs

 

I just bought a 100XQ for my 09 DBLB. Bed Cap, Taxes, Shipping and Install costed me $2408. Should have it by the end of the month. Only option I added was the removeable sliding front window for ease of cleaning.
